Rumba strumming

I know there is an almost an infinite amount of ways to do rumba strumming. I was wondering if this pattern can work. Pretty straightfoward but want to add it to my rumba strumming patterns.

RE: Rumba strumming (in reply to jg7238

I think perhaps if you throw this in there for a few seconds in the middle of another song which has a more interesting pattern, then it may be OK (mainly to add contrast to what can become a repetitive rhythmic feel from one rumba strumming pattern over and over), but it sounds boring to me as a standalone pattern. Sounds more like someone who is trying to do the Marote rajeo but isn't getting the equal spacing correctly yet keeps going through it over and over.

I also would think there needs to be something percussive which needs to be added, like a muted strum or a golpe somewhere, otherwise this sounds not rhythmic enough to be rumba to my ears.

Agree with Ramz, missing something. Like some sort of percussive something after the P down.

I was waiting for you to chime in... I thought I was actually playing the coolest rumba strumming pattern frankly. On a more serious note I agree with you and Lenny. I play Rumba differently. It's missing aire por Rumba Lenador.

You're asking the wrong people Juan. Try asking some hot chicks who know jack about flamenco

Here the strumming was too predictable - but I wonder if it would work well as a variation thown in real briefly with other patterns??
