Hello from New Jersey

Hello! I've been a guitar player for 22 years (mainly progressive rock, blues, jazz a bit later). My desire to play got really stale since maybe 5 or so years ago, amounted to me playing the same songs every now and then without any real drive to progress as a musician.

I've always been a huge fan of the flamenco sound (specifically the zambra, middle-eastern sounding stuff) and always included a faux-flamenco sound to my songs (basically tremolo picking, harmonic minor, fast strumming, etc).

I recently started messing around with finger picking, watching flamenco vids on youtube and got really into learning actual flamenco. I upgraded to a new nylon guitar last week and have been playing for at least a few hours per night.

I've been using Gerhard Graf-Martinez's Flamenco book, as well as youtube vids to keep an eye on proper form by watching real players.

So anyway, I'm no stranger to guitar in general but all these right-hand techniques are new to me (though I feel very free not having to rely on a pick anymore!), so I look forward to picking your brains about the techniques and style in general!

I suppose I could do videos (I have a webcam on my laptop but I never recorded with it). I have a home studio setup, so if I could find a way to integrate that into the video for clear sound that would be great, I'd love for you all to critique my technique.
