Samuelito and Antoine Boyer : Bulerias

Hi,

I've already made a post about them you can check it out if you want to have more information on these players (some good videos there : http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=297834&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=antoine%2Cboyer&tmode=&smode=&s=#297834) who are rising stars in europe in their respective style.

This composition is from their latest album which is really really great. I would advice you to buy it. Really good duo.

The ending (around 3'20) is really great. Insane tone by Antoine towards the end. The melting between nylon and steel is really great.

I asked if the album was available for digital purchase (on their official FB page). Nobody replied.

Hello Ramzi,

I don't think it is available in digital format yet. I buy the CD and it comes directly from the house of Antoine with a hand written envelop :) However the worldwide shipping is not so expensive : 4€.
I bought it directly on their website : http://www.antoineboyersamuelito.com/music to support them (maybe I'm a fool). I would really like to see them live.

You can listen to it on deezer or spotify for the time being :

Here is small review :

1 & 2 : The first 2 tracks "Double sens" et "D'ici là" are compositions. Really good work but you need to listen to them multiple times (at least for me) to extract everything.Good "blending" between the two guitars
3 : This is a really great version of "nuages" by django on the CD. Very tasty soloing by Antoine.
4 : "Sita" is written by Antoine, slow and mysterious composition I like it.
5 : "Zyryab" by PDL, great version maybe a bit too close to the original ? Still well done.
6 : "Life on Mars" by Bowie. I don't know the original song, not my favorite track but I don't remember everything about it, I will need to re-listen to it
7 : "Songe capricorne" by Roland dyens : Really good duet arrangement, mysterious and profound. One of my favorite
8 : "Si Fuera realidad", another composition : video above, great ideas, tasty soloing by Antoine.

Overall for a first album, bearing in mind that they are around 20 it is a really great effort.
Samuelito is really good and Antoine is insane, close to the the top of guitar playing scene today, he has an amazing earn, a huge rhythmic and harmonic vocabulary,
an insane technique that he doesn't show to often while remaining musical check his youtube channel or the thread that I posted to listen to his compositions be it classical on electric or classical guitar, or swing.

Simon
