Choosing metal sheets for bending sides

Hi all

I'm gonna try bending guitar sides using mold and light bulbs and I need to choose between chromium and copper since I have found thin sheets(convenient for bending) available but stainless-steel was too thick.

so what do you think?

I am not an expert on bending forms since I always use a bending iron but I suspect either should work just be sure to separate the side from the bending form with something like Kraft paper or aluminum foil to prevent staining.

Dunno about for guitar building but in building my experience with copper is its really soft and after it oxidizes it's really dirty. Never worked with chromium.

Anders Eliasson used spring steel wrapped in foil to prevent staining.

LMII stock some nice sprung steel and pretty reasonable on price too.

Here is an idea .
I made this with minimum investment.
The top part is bending iron with direct heating element inside. the lower part is bending blanket with temperature control from LMI. the body is made of steel . you need to heat both side of the wood in the middle wrapped with aluminum foil , to prevent staining.
