Dolores Vargas, R.I.P

I’ve just had a note telling me that Ms Vargas ‘La Terremoto’ has died, at the age of 80. Older members may remember her terrific album Furioso with Sabicas.

So it's like every week now we lose a great one?

Perhaps. Was that a particularly distinguished generation? What about the generation that followed?

This is sad news for sure, she was one of the great dancers.
I was lucky enough to have seen her live on the stage, in San Diego, CA. she was with Escadero, and dance troop
She had a flamboyant, dynamite talent , the real Flamenco soul power, and fire in her heart.

Here is probably one of her best albums, recorded with the late, great Sabicas. If you would like to hear excerpts from this album, do a search on Amazon.com for this album
