Capo/Cejilla Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good capo/cejilla? It doesn't have to be all fancy pants, but it could be, but most importantly it has to be good. I seem to have bad luck with my capos for some reason, breaking or not holding the strings tight enough.

I have a beautiful traditional cejilla but I rarely use it because of the fuss over putting it on, string snapping every now and then, etc.

Those are nice traditional Cejilla but I wonder do they work any better than this inexpensive one I use:

you can get all the fancy pants ones you want , matching wood , handcrafted , gold and diamond inlayed , made by virgins in the sierra morena . or what ever you want ....
but ....
.....
everyone should have a Dunlop , standard capo ... fits all quick to put on and take off small, lightweight and cheap ....its a hard design to beat ...

Get this one and you won't regret it. I've had the same one for more than 10 years and it works perfectly still with never a single issue in the entirety of that decade. Cheers!

I had one of those for several years and they're great. But one day the hinge came unhinged and the sping popped out making the thing completely useless. The hinge seemed to be something like a rivit and it was that that broke. A more practical man perhaps could have fixed it by putting a new rivit through the center, but I figured it was time it got the RIP treatment.

What I like with this capo is it lies low and out the way and is super rapid to swap positions.

I've an old one of those (actually the 11f not the 15f) whose lever for some reason doesn't like to lie low so it stays in a precarious state of wanting to pop up at any moment. No idea why it's like that, perhaps the plastic is a bit deformed. Also the 11f feels quite toothy sometimes when playing certain phrases in por ariba. Other than that, they're a great no thrills capo.

Or you could join the jazz club and say that capos are for pussies anyway.

I've been using the cheapest Dunlop out there for years and haven't had anything to complain about so. I'm usually a bit skeptical about the ones that you clap down on the side. Seems to be it'd be simple physics that the pressure exerted would be stronger on the side of the clasp and weaker on the other end (though anyone feel free to correct me on this. My knowledge of physics is pretty much limited to long-forgotten grade school stuff). I'd go for something that "closes" in the middle.

I'm sure with some good strong rubber bands and a penil or cigerete light you could get some good results.

yep .. not trying to show off ...but i have 2 Dunlops..! .. and the first one ive had for easy 10 years ....
.
and I have a couple of trad ones that look nice and obviously make me play much better ....
They're for dress purposes ...playing in public ....you know , like when you have to get washed to go out n all that ........

A friend of mine has endorsement deal with G7. Personally I think they look pig ugly on a flamenco guitar and prefer something far more discrete like the Dunlops Kiko mentions above, or a Shubb.

Oh well, my bedroom walls don't mind the ugliness of the G7th capo as long as it performs well and not leaving anywhere beyond these walls.. Plus I don't think pigs are ugly to start with

I also like the planet waves one with the little knob that you twist to tighten. I have used the strapy dunlop one for years but when I lost it and bought a new one it was a bad experience. The first one was bent slightly - so I brought it back, then the next one I can never keep the tension on- it keeps slipping in the buckle over time.
