I can see that most of the guitarmakers that are/have been members here are there as well.
Maybe I should join, but since I´m not really old/new - school, I may as well just stay here. Besides all this making PR for yourself on internet foros is really exhausting.

And finally to OP, you dont have to be sorry about taking this up. Its perfectly legal. What once was a mess doesnt have to stay so.
I personally have nothing against old-school flamenco forum. But because of time and energy i dont visit it.

I get "access denied". Perhaps I'm banned in spite of me never having posted there

*edit: actually having gone through a proxy with an american address worked. Not with the Dutch and German ones though.

Ugh...couldn't help but glance over certain topics on that foro and found the opinions making my stomach turn. So glad I have avoided it over the years.

I glanced over there just now and it reminded me of the schism in the American Mormon cult that happened in the late 19 century when they banned polygamy and the guys with three wives went to Mexico.

OSFF doctrine:

If it happened after Paco de Lucia it is not flamenco. Eggshells.

FF doctrine:

Doctrinal dogma it will be challenged and reasoned over in a sometimes unreasonable way, but mostly fair.

I know a lot of the people on that group and they are nice fellas, I connect with them on Facebook and don't hang on that foro. The rift between FF and Old School is really similar to the way opera enthusiasts group up into Wagner lovers and Wagner haters, and the ones who don't hate Wagner, but are not motivated to follow Wagner. Something like that.

To the latter group I commend Mark Twain's quote from the humorist Edgar Wilson:

"Wagner's music is better than it sounds."

Flamenco is a living art - everything else is history.

Nothing wrong with history but it shouldn’t be confused with rampant conservatism.
