That Cepero is truly awesome, however the reason I got into flamenco was because of its recent musical evolution. I have come to appreciate the traditional form, however will always love the exploration of new forms done by the masters. I was impressed Vicente tried to get away from flamenco on Tierra, even if the results were not his best effort. Art should never stop evolving, or it will certainly get stale. I love solo guitar, whether that is the roots of flamenco or not. I thank Sabicas for popularising the idea, and General Franco for making it possible!

In my circle I'm considered as a 'new flamenco' due I like (apart the tradicional flamenco) Vicente, Diego del Morao, Gerardo, Chicuelo, Mixtolobo, Son de la Fronterta, etc...people who create this 'music evolution'

but my point of view is that if you like flamenco, you should explore from the root.
Same situation like the 'blues'.

After a long time waiting, last month we could enjoy Paco Cepero on my Peña. 100 people, no more. Each cante was a perfect lesson how the guitarist must assist.

He came with Samuel Serrano, young 'cantaor' (mentored by Paco).

Listen the mythical 'falsetas' was absolutely spectacular...

You got to see this live??? I'm jealous.....this kid is good!
