Jesus Guerrero

Really liking his solo compositions from what I have heard.

I hope his solo album won't be produced with a huge amount of reverb and excessive production....

i like this dude. saw him accompany poveda in london in place of chicuelo and he was amazing!

video is ok. started off well and lost me a bit. I always raise an eyebrow when flamenco players start naming their tunes with English names! Anne Frank?!?!?

Stu, you should read a bit about Anne Frank, you'll understand.

Jesús played the piece on webcam, he shared it on his private facebook a couple of months ago, it was incredibly powerful and brilliant. It's considerably more popularistic-sounding here, which is a disappointment, but I still have high hopes for his album.

This is my favourite video of Jesus playing the guitar for Miguel.

I like so much how he plays the guitar on "alegrias" and "bulerias de cadiz" are perfect to study. The "silencios" "contratiempos" etc...

Do you have a link for that?

The video for Anne Frank did absolutely nothing for me sadly. My hopes for his album have gone entirely now, my worst fears were confirmed.

Actually she was born German and her family moved to Amsterdam when she was still very little. She became famous for the diary she wrote during the war. She was exterminated like the rest.

I know she wasn't English! I guess what I should've said is that I don't like it when flamenco songs aren't named in Spanish.
We call her Anne Frank , so I just jumped in. My point still stands about English in flamenco song titles. Not for me.

Jimi, I know the story of Anne Frank rather well. Infact my fiancees best friend played her in a film with Ben Kingsley
In the nineties, so I'm often reminded about the story. What specifically about her would help me understand the song title?

Ha! Nice. The cantinas he played in London was the most memorable number for me too!! I love his powerful staccato rasguado!!

RE: Jesus Guerrero (in reply to Stu

Well the way you wrote it wasn't clear that you knew who she was :)
Obviously it's a tribute to her. Otherwise I agree, hopefully the other pieces aren't titled in anything else than spanish!
