If you ever wanted to learn Pharaon

You could do a lot worse than Ramzi's excellent tutorial.

Nice job, Ramzi. Please, no one ask for TAB.

How about Galaxia next? :)

WHat version is this? That's not how I learned some of it. The triplet legato is really different.

I don't know, I actually asked him that myself. I have listed to a couple different versions, and none match up completely as far as I can tell. He also starts the sextuplet part wrong :)

Seems to be most people just use Pharaon as a kind of vamp anyway. I like it because I can play it with a looper and don't have to mess with backing tracks.

Well it's actually a riff based on Vicente's taranta falseta that used this same melody and chords, and we improvise. I like to use D melodic minor on the G chord some times. Anyway every version will be different as it's just an improvisation. But I want to make sure he didn't learn this from Rodrigo and Gabriela or the Prof. or something horrible like that. e

Cool, Ramzi. I've never heard that one--which album is it from?

I hear the sextuplets you have as #11 starting a whole tone higher, but the rest the same.

Ricardo, that C# sounds badass. I seem to hear that "modal substitution" (probably using totally incorrect substitution) every once in awhile in flamenco and rumbas, and love it.

I don't know which album. I've had it for years and I have no clue where it came from.

Listen to the version I attached and listen to how I play the notes at # 11 - I think what I did is correct.

Yeah, you're right, Ramzi, your tutorial is true to your version. I think other people start it up a semitone (not whole tone).

It's clearly a cover...but at least its not R and G!

But for your own sake, I would stick with the original version.
