THe ambiguity appears when one accents count 9, which can also happen often, and that gets the heart of the true symmetry of the overall compas such that really is not a difference between the first half and the second half of 12's...they can overylay and work just fine in other words. THere is no jerez rule...what you might notice eventually is that certain players such as MANUEL MORAO, would do a half compas remate when playing for cante, EVERY TIME....moraito explains it matter of factly in his encuentro video. What that means is, in a typcial 3 line letra, the C-F (or F-C if you prefer) harmony goes with the second line of verse, and the jerez players will more often do an extra 6 to close Bb-A. Other players might prefer to add a rasueado closing to that ....even moraito would do this often, so the compas become a square normal 12 count....but his uncle always omitted that rasgueado closing. It becomes a personal stylistic guitar choice that need not affect the singer really. Check the topic involved in the Cante accompaniment thread, there are clear examples. Ricardo
