I can give advice in wear products

Hello,

I think I can be very helpful giving advice about flamenco wear.
I have worked in a flamenco shop in Jerez de la frontera (Spain) since I am a kid so I think i can help. If you need some advice to know what to keep in mind to buy clothes products let me know. I will give advice without saying any brand to not make spam ;) (unless someone ask for it)

Nothing beats those white Levi's shoes that Vicente used to use.

Well, nothing except my white crocodile patterned shoes. They scream bulerias.

Dear Tamara,

If you are ordering by mail, what are the measurements needed
for ordering a Bata de Cola? Is there a form that shows where to measure? Right now , I am thinking of one for practice in the studio.

I am also interested what types of fabrics are used and the construction of the Bata de Cola.
Some seem to flow effortlessly and others appear more heavy and weighted when
turning.

Appreciate your assistance with these questions...

Hi Joana. I will try to answer all your questions :)

Where I work, for making a bata de cola is needed:

- Contour of the waist

- Contour of the hip

- Length from hip to where you want to arrive your skirt

The fabric more used is "popelin" ( I don't know how it/s called in other countries). This is a fabric with a density and a very appropriate weight for bata de cola. Furthermore, it is very easy for iron and wash :)

There are batas de cola for diferent levels ( basic and professional). What is often the difference?
The basic bata de cola is for a student in basic level. This bata de cola weighs less because it does not entire lined inside (it is lighter for student in basic level). Professional it is lined inside. This adds more weight to the bata de cola so it is necessary have to be more level. When you dance with the professional bata de cola on stage, is more beautiful because it shows the inner lining that usually is a different color than the bata de cola exterior and creates a nice visual effect. :)
