G strings buzzing in saddle

Hola amigos, long time I know

to luthiers, i need help,

ok, I do guitars repair meanwhile, my instegram is - bahrainguitarshop - u can look at my work ,

any way, I am facing a problem,

a friend bought a hemanos sanchis lopez 1f extra Madagascar 2014, a master piece guitar,

the devil whispers in his ears and he start to play with saddle and try to make the guitar lowers than its low low action!!
the guitar was perfect , perfect action perfect buzz,

unfortunatly, he brought the guitar to me , the guitar was buzzing annoying buzz, and I hear it in the saddle, where the string tough the tip of the saddle,

I change the saddle, to a higher one, the same buzz, it's not an open string buzz, it when u play the frets, sound like back buzz, after u play the not u hear it,
I raised the nut it was the same
, I leveled the frets still buzzing,
Change the string still buzzing!!
I check the braces, they are ok
I check nothing lose and vibrate

Change the shape of the saddle bone tip ( head) , still the same buzz!
I discover later he sand the slot of the saddle a little making it wider in middle!! And the slot bottom is not straight it's curved! So when I slide the saddle inside the slot, there is a gap under it and a gap in middle where the d and g string pass over the bone head,

what happen is his other guitar hermanos sanchis lopez 1f extra arce start to devlope the same G buzz, alos another guys with a cordoba F7 and recently this morning another friend with viecnete carillo guitar, the only thins is i found theat of those guiys they just bought a luthier hard tension strings! and the other this is the weather in bahrain now is humid and cold,

so what do u think guys!!

Haitham, its more or less impossible to say what to do without being there.

Just one thing. Dont do diagnosis and repair on a very humid guitar. Let it dry first.
If there´s no problem when its dryer, then tell the owner to keep it dryer....
Also, if you havent contacted Andy Culpepper, do so, normally we prefer to be asked personally before someone post on a public forum.

andress, my big problem with the sanchis, andy guitar is fine now, and I was just saying that all of those guitars are creating the same problem,

nothing else, any way,

I ask the quastion here because sanchis or carillo will not care about buzz that created by owners mistake,

I don't think I can help as chasing a buzz is hard enough with the guitar in your hand let alone on a forum with a slight language barrier.

I can only reccommend a few checks that I can think of off the top of my head.

Although it is unrelated I always check that it's not the end of the strings buzzing on the sound board and the same at the head end. It only takes seconds to check just hold them still and play offending note. I always check the tuner screws too. The ones that hold the buttons in place are the usual suspects if there are any.

Perhaps the saddle profile is not right an the string is buzzing from the front but I think you said you had already checked that. I have seen some really badly made saddles in some really badly made saddle slots but no buzzing.

It could be the strings I think you said they all had the same strings on. Just try a different brand.

Lastly it could be a loose fret. I have only ever come across this once and it took me a while to work it out. I think the easiest way to check would be to look at all of the dead notes on all strings and all frets just see if the fret moves underneath it.

Any way I hope this helps and sorry if you have tried these things already.

RE: G strings buzzing in saddle (in reply to Haithamflamenco

Living in Louisiana, the most humid state in the US, I have experienced similar string buzzing problems on my two Vicente Sanchis and a Ramirez.
I determined the problem was due to weak break-angle.

So, what I did was reduce the surface contact area by filing the nut slot at an angle towards the tuners, until the string rests on just 1/3 of the nut. But, the main thing that helped was converting the bridge to a 12-hole tie block. I haven't had any string issues since.

Just my two cents on it.
