Which finger do you use for tapping?

Hello!

Which finger do you guys use for tapping? I use my middle finger, because it is the finger closest to the guitar.

Would it be better for me to use my ring finger instead? Since that would free up more fingers?

Golpe is done with the ring finger below the strings and above the strings with index or middle finger. Traditionally

When you say above the strings do you mean above the base strings? How do you get your ring finger there? Or do you mean closer to the neck?

I am going to practice using my ring finger then =)

I use the middle + ring finger together as a unit to tap below the treble strings.

For golpe, use the ring finger below the trebles. My advice would be don't worry about golpe above the bass strings until you have pretty well mastered golpe below the trebles.

Wow! I never noticed that before! I have seen the thumb been used for that, but never the finger!

Thanks for clearing that up for me =)

Ring and middle finger. The more fingers, the better sound.
