Sad News from SF, Robin Williams left us

Sad news from SF. Robin William has left us; perhaps he gave in to those restless demons that helped him made us laugh, but caused him great grief.

Although not surprised, I was saddened to hear of his passing. All that money and he couldn't find anyone who could help him. It just seems so ludicrous.

Indeed first thing that comes to mind. Specially in view of many possible causes like physical dysfunction ( metabolism / neuro transmitter) or mental irritation, which one would think could be found easening or cure for.

Only if it was a cognitive issue, like understanding a messed up world, there is little that can help.

It wouldn´t surprise me if he was an empathical person.
Certainly a very sympathetic appearance that will be missed. :O|

Like many others I took a lot of pleasure in watching his performances and it's a real shame his departure from the earth was in such a manner.

He was famous in SF before Mork & Mindy. There was a comedy club on Clement st called the Holy City Zoo. He got his start there as a bartender, who decided to get up on stage. The club was tiny and located next door to a rock club called the Last Day Saloon. After he became a star, he would drop into the Zoo and do a set now and then. Once I was in the Last day and all of a sudden the place emptied out. Robin had showed up next door. I squeezed into the Zoo for his set. Place was wall to wall people. Reflecting on his work, one realizes how great a career he had. Really a giant in the entertainment business. He lived in SF for a time and was known to open the door to kids on halloween personally. Many locals took the opportunity for their kids to meet him. Very sad day in the Bay Area and throughout the world. RIP.

Not everything can be fixed with money and doctors.

They usually do more harm than good. Especially the money.

Yes, there have been many examples of individuals suiciding despite of wealth. And money can be contra productive in some ways, like when it hinders you from realizing who could be friends and who just flattering sponge. ( Keeping from reflecting / self-observation.)

I was rather thinking of how funds can be helpful in so far as one being able to acquire professional help against much of physical and some of psychological causes.
With the exception of depression through cognitive background, like associating with depressing conditions in a desolate world.
That would be no dysfunction and thus incurable in the same time.

... Unless you had that much of money to actually change something ( and find relief from there).
- But individuals who own that much will usually not be concerned correspondingly, rather further increasing their profits, buying themselves sport clubs or investing into fruitless kinds of charity.
Which again rather adds to a rational depression.

Excerpt from blog post about Robin Williams from one of my friends who is a clinical psychologist:

" What this article does not say is that one of the main side effects of anti-depressants over time is increased suicidality. The increase of juggling multiple prescription meds via the pressure of the money-driven psychiatric drug industry and mental health system is directly related to the increase of the side effect of choosing suicide during times of depression. The clinic where I am a director successfully utilizes detoxification and re-balancing of neurochemistry via orthomolecular medicine to address anxiety and depression (as well as schizophrenia and the over-mis-diagnosed Bi-Polar), along with psychodynamic therapy to address the root of the related psy issues.
