Could you name this tune?

Hi everyone

How's it going? My fellow is buying a Cordoba C5 classical guitar this week. We checked together some Cordoba C5 reviews on YT few hours ago.. And we found this one

The first tune (1st minute of the clip) is really nice. Couldn't resist.. had to ask you guys about it. It might not be related to flamenco but it has to be a Spanish song, I guess!

Could someone name this tune for me? And what music genre is this? I'm really curious cos it does sound good.

Thanks

I knew it wasn't gunna be flamenco before I even hit play. (He wouldn't be holding it like that.)

That music is from the Americas for sure, definitely not Spanish. Sounds like maybe Cuban...

Wait! I know it! One sec..........
Can't find it, I hear it ALL the time I feel like, with words, this sounds like a guitar rendition of it........ "blaaaaa bla bla de amor...."

Thank you Lenador

I thought it sounded Spanish! Comes to show that I know very little..
But anyway, you're sure it's Cuban?

P.S. Yeah.. but this one sounds like a nice bla bla though

Not positive it's cuban, I am positive it's NOT Spanish, Mexican, or South American....definitely carribean of some sort. Central american, cuban, puerto rican, something....

Youtube reviews of home recording equipment........ the guitar being played is almost completely irrelevant.

Or why not record with two different eq settings and claim to be a wizard ?

Thank you.. really appreciated..

"Dust in the wind" is a pretty hard one to miss though!

BTW, I checked a couple other videos regarding the Cordoba C5.. It doesn't sound too classical to me!

I don't think you tube reviews or guitars are of any use.

Try out a selection of guitars in the same room yourself on the same day and if one is head and shoulders above the others in your price range buy it.

That's what I do.

I remember one time going with a pupil to a local music shop to pick a very cheap guitar and they only had one model in stock to suit his budget.

So we tried six of them (which didn't make me very popular with the staff). Four were quite bad one was completely dead and one was bizarrely lovely.

They all sounded the same when the clerk 'demonstrated' them.

Best of luck with your purchase

right off the bat and way late to the game, the first minute sounds more like a portuguese fado to me than anything cuban. check out cesoria evora.

I don't think so, as the Portuguese dudes on this foro know, I'm a huge Fado fan, know all the names and have many albums, there's no way that's fado. It's got that generic "latin" sound to it common to the Caribbean, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Mark Anthony or Enrique Igelsias song.......

I would say: hymn to Che Guevara:

Aprendimos a quererte
desde la histórica altura
donde el sol de tu bravura
le puso cerco a la muerte.

Aquí se queda la clara,
la entrañable transparencia,
de tu querida presencia
Comandante Che Guevara.

etc etc etc. ..

pollo al ajillo! - the ultimative and more clasical one, like the doctor/medicine-man would say.

I'm pretty sure we are on the end of the way/ in the eye of the cyclone with this clasical tune.

there are endless versions, the propaganda ones I dont wanna mention
