LOL... the new graphic design is so art deco, it does evoke coffee and liquor ads from that post war era of modern decadence. Perhaps D'Addario is advertizing his "coffee" G string? Or else, he could have used this iconic Art Deco ad:

It's very nice, and I like your suggetstion too, gj, though the two together put me in mind of the classic old sherry labels which could provide great material for string packets.

There are lots more entertaining old labels here:
El flamenco en el etiquetado vinatero del Marco de Jerez

But for the more modern innovative 'macho' guitars there needs to be something along these lines (even if it is very subtle):

I love that Sherry ad, Estevan [and incidentally, it is always an immense pleasure to see your posts]. It would be absolutely perfect for flamenco strings and, on the other hand, may I dare suggest, could serve as the charming cover for our ForoFlamenco's next album?

Are they more flexible as well? The standard EJ46 basses are kinda stiff and sound a little too thick for me so I always get the EJ45 basses instead with the 46 trebles.

I was excited but skeptical about this new set, and yet I am enthusiastically surprised that, in fact, it performed splendidly on my guitar.

I strung my German Vazquez Rubio blanca, which sports the lowest action ever attempted on a flamenco guitar [courtesy of the infallible master, Peter Tsiorba], with a set of Dynacore "Hard" Tension.

Tuning:
A few minutes later, all strings kept their pitch, requiring infrequent and minor adjustments;

Basses:
Indeed more brilliant and responsive than any of the D'Addario I tried thus far, whether Pro Arte or their Composite variation, with an accentuated metallic timbre that blends harmoniously with the titanium trebles. They also are quite flexible, even the hard tension variety.

Trebles:
I had tried titanium trebles before, and while I had enjoyed their thinner and perhaps more brilliant sound [than their conventional nylon counterparts] I always regretted a want of lyricism in their quickly expiring resonance and more frigid response.
However, within this set, these trebles performed beautifully, bringing out [or better, accentuating] the voice I like to hear from my blanca: thinner but loud, metallic yet lyrical, deep but uncompromised by excessive sustain.

There is a saying, that if you run out of ideas or excitement to compose or interpret, you should learn a new instrument. I find that while this may hold true as written, a refreshed sound to your own instrument may yield the same result. After stringing it with the Dynacore set, I just could not stop playing the guitar.

I woke up really early today [the usual 4am, Sunday notwithstanding] and played every piece of Flamenco/Fakemenco I had learned or composed but had relegated to the attic of my mind, among good but obsolete memories. Thank you, D'Addario, well done indeed.

Now, the usual and necessary DISCLAIMER:

Each guitar may find its own voice with a different tension, brand and type of strings; each player, in turn, has his own distinct expectations and discrete ways to husband the sound he wants to hear. Hence, this set may work for you, could simply leave you unimpressed or, worse, may even disappoint you greatly and arouse an irresistible fit of rage [causing you to curse me and my review.... well, then please re-read this disclaimer, once again].

However, yet, I am happy to report that I and my dear German Vazquez Rubio are both exceedingly pleased with the Dynacore set.

Thanks for the review.
I have two Titanium sets now (old looking package, not the coffee one) and am going to try them out as soon as the basses of the luthiers and la bellas which I have on my guitars die (which is going to be pretty soon).

Ordered a set of the Dynacore/T2's; tried them on two of my best guitars. The trebles did have that plastic dull sound. The basses were loud, decent tone, but lacked the articulation and clarity of the Corum basses I have been using. They were not as flexible as I had hoped, unlike the Corums. I will keep them on a few days but suspect it will be back to the Corums

Well I'm with you, having tried the Titanium trebles on at least half a dozen decent guitars and found them to sound awful every time -- even trying again on the same guitars in case i was in a bad mood or something the first time. They also do feel very much like packaging plastic; and the thing is they make a perfectly fine string already.

It's funny really because so much effort, money, and ultimately hype, goes into reinventing the wheel when it comes to strings. It would seem logical that the farther away we get from natural materials (gut, silk, metal), the more synthetic the material the more synthetic the sound. It may be a sound we like, but it's going to have a different character than instruments have had from ancient times to 1946, when Augustine became the first to market a string made with nylon.

P.S., also meant to say -- we love all the great recordings from Niño Ricardo, Sabicas, Paco, everybody, and has there ever been a comment like "nice playing but what's with that string sound, sure wish that guy was using the brand new Super Slickos with that aerospace grade Dyno-mite extra wound ultra-micro filament.

Maybe these manufacturers make a surge in sales everytime they do these things so they keep at it from time to time. I guess there are so many guitarists out there that are so frustrated
with the sound of their guitars so that's the reason the "search" will never end. I figured out a while ago that if my guitar does not sound good with regular nylons from at least
the top 2-3 manufacturers, then it's time to sell it.

I've tried the Titanium trebles on a maple classical and they worked quite well in terms of providing focus, clarity, and quick attack.

That being said, my idea of a flamenco guitar includes all of those attributes anyway!
