Hello from Sydney

I am from Sydney, Australia and am a classical guitarist. I have never played flamenco and am unsure whether I ever will. I am interested in lutherie and the exchange of information between the flamenco and classical worlds.

I also own too many guitars (14 at last count) but apparently have a very tolerant wife.....

Peter

aaah dang it.. classical guitar should get banned from this forum here... whenever I hear classical guitar I feel that my dong starts shinking. Luckily it grows when listening to flamenco. Just proceed. u r welcome even though.. classical guitar.... should only be performed in space where nobody could hear it.

...and then there are replies that should only be posted in spaces where nobody can read them !
Welcome to the foro, Peter

Welcome Peter,

14 guitars! How about adding a flamenco guitar and make it 15.
But I'm not sure If your wife will still be tolerant after that addition.
Flamenco guitars are total chick magnets (as opposed to classical guitars,
which is by the way probably the reason why your wife was so tolerant until now,
even with 14 guitars!).

Ok enough Classical-Bashing.
We aren't always like this, don't worry.
And we have some Hybrids here too who enjoy both worlds ;)

Yeap, but only until you marry one of these chicks and then she has to listen to you practicing every evening! Then she starts moaning that "what the hell is this weird music you play on and on" or "have you married me or the bloody guitar?"

Welcome by the way Peter

A

Welcome mate. I'm also in Sydney. Give me a yell if you want a flamenco teacher, I can introduce mine. I wish I can play at the moment but I cannot due to some finger problem.
Get a teacher and start playing at some dance classes. It'll be great.

Cheers
