Paco Jarana

Did a lil poking around and it looks like florian was the only guy championing this dude. I saw him with Eva Yerbabuena(his wife) last week and he blew my socks off! Absolutely incredible, not just technique, but in terms of musicality and phrasing. Been obsessed with him since. Guy needs to put out a solo album baaaaadly! If Eva is touring near you GO! Check his YouTube vids but it doesn't quite do him justice....

I think this is the case with many many great players out there.

A youtube video just can't deliver what you get in person.

Some players and recordings just don't translate on video at all.

I agree, great player. But what's the point him making a CD? A few people buy it, one of them uploads it and then the sales dry up. He has constant work with Eva so he doesn't need it as a calling card.

Do you have the Sólo Compás discs that feature his playing? Siguiríyas and Martinete's (the first one. Second one is Juana Amaya with Paco Fernandez on guitar) and Tarantos.

He accompanies Segundo Falcon on his cd "Un Segundo de Cante"

Him making a cd is purely for my own selfish reasons.

Thanks for the tip on the other stuff though!

If you feel so strongly, why don´t you ring him and offer to finance his CD?

I have made 2 CDs for flamenco singers with my own (poco) dinero. Why not you?

I agree. I saw him in Irvine. He is definitely a great guitarist. I would also like to hear a solo CD from him. He is a well known guitarist and I bet there are plenty more people that would love to hear him as well.
