I like this rosette a lot, it's one of my "simple" ones, but it really has life.

Stephen. This is my fav rosette ever. It was on those 5 port something cedar guitars that you had for sale, yeah?

Yeah, that one is on a Port Orford Cedar guitar, and thank you. I try.

I'm making one last Port Orford guitar right now, I worked it out, I think I made ten of them in all. I had 15 sets of Port Orford and I have one left and one being constructed on the workbench. I used two or three sets of ribs as inner laminate material on rosewood classicals...which leaves I guess ten Port Orford guitars.
But thank you I appreciate the comments about the rosettes. I work hard to keep them clear and reductive.

This was the first rosette design I ever created. Hadn't used it in a while.

I noticed some vowel tone in the middle register, with everything else in its place. Nice presentation.

It's got a good voice, not just string noise. That propio sello is going to be hard to beat. Really incredible, and I imagine it will grow into a great instrument.

She is a beauty.
The way the main ring of the rosette is devided it looks as if there was something written in ancient Roman.
Great way to do.

Why don´t you accept?
Seriously.

Seeing pricing of 1A flamencas ( http://classicalguitar.co.uk/onlinestore/instruments.php?sort=high&category=FM&view_by=grid) you could sell the Ramirez, order another one from Anders and use the rest of dough for a nice stay around Granada to pick up your new axe, unnerve Anders a bit with silly questions ( "How you do this / why do you do that?" ) and relax under the Andalusian sun.

Or you oder two of his like a spruce and a cedar / blanca / negra for different timbres.

.. Ruphus....I am a lucky man!.... two of my guitars are a blanca and a negrita made by Anders! .....I can't stay one single day without them!....and if I will ever have some extra money I would cenrtainly make a trip around Granada...visit Anders and relax under the Andalusian sun! :-)

The standard machine heads are Gotoh. I install others if the client wants, but in these, tough economical times we all have to keep cost down and so, standard Gotoh. (Which are very good)

Anders,

I've noticed a few of your recent builds are longer scales, with two 655's and one 660. Any particular reasons for this? Do you notice any differences in sound to the longer scales and their shorter counterparts? Apologies if this is a question asked before.

Also I think the new headstock looks very nice as a completed instrument.

RE: "Luthiers share your creati... (in reply to HolyEvil

I like the new headstock as well when finished.

I dont belive in this with the scales, but since some people are very religious with that, I have built some guitars with 660 scales, and some with 655mm. The last because its easyer to understand for most that if they are used to 650 or 660 scales, then they can adjust to 655 as well. Its as simple as that.
I have had 10 month without touching a flameneco guitar and I´ve just recorded with 3 different scales (650, 655 and 660) and I couldnt tel any kind of difference. The setup, the pulsation and the general feel of the instrument is 100 times more important.

Those are great looking(and sounding) guitars!

I just finished the one in the back, it´s a spruce top blanca. The one in the front is a Cedar top blanca. The spruce top definately is my favorite for now.
This guitarbuilding is really addictive...

I also like the white golpeador. I wonder why more people don't seem to.

Having investigated golpeadores to some degree I think that the transparent ones allow us to find a thinner one without sacrificing protection. If the same amount of effort had been put into making such a range of thin plastic protectors in white colour we might find that perfect white one. Not something I have hard data to back up.

RE: "Luthiers share your creati... (in reply to HolyEvil

Personally I quite like the looks of a white golpeador, I decided only to do the half one because all white was a bit too much for my taste. On the bass side there´s a transparent one, covering the rosette for proteccion of Moraito style thumb nails
I agree with John about the thickness of the white one(0.5 mm) comparing to the transparent one(0.3 mm). The golpe sounds different on the white one.
I also hope that it will turn a bit more yellowish in time.

A blanca I finished : Port Orford Cedar, Spruce top
it's got a nice sting to it.

I'm not much of a player these days, ( was I ever?? ha ha) but I have enough of something to make sure they work. A short clip of solea por medio, siguiriya and solea pro arriba in various states of confusion. :) Because of my remote location I don't l see very many people in person these days so I am having to have a bit more of presence on the internet to show things, I hope that is ok.

Please pick one and listen.

Even though the sound clips were made with a cell phone camera they still give an idea.
