Winter Olympics

I´m a Dane and I´ve never done skiing, skating or anything like that.
But I LOVE winter olympics and this year I can actually se winter OL at day time and even choose what i want to see. And in February, the most boring month of the year.
My favorites are the nordic disciplines and skijumping.
Ski jumping is one of the most spectacular things that the human being does and its esthetiaclly very atractive. Throw yourself out from the tower with 90 km/h and fly 100m or more on two sticks on your feet, thats to be brave IMHO.

He was a danger to himself. He wasnt doing ski jumping. He was doing ski falling.

They changed the acces rules to the skijumping competition because of him.

ski jumping is pretty ballsy, no doubt. i am always reminded of the old abc wide world of sports intro--the agony of defeat. for those who know the show and the intro you know what happens. for those who do not know the show or the intro then check it out. gruesome!

The Thrill of Victory, Agony of Defeat ... A Classic, but The Isle of Man TT Race ...
This is where you go to see some serious crashing ...

I dont like when the skijumpers crash. Not at all. I like to see them fly and especially when the good one take that last couple of meters that makes touching the ground much more complicated. Then I´m totally lost.
I saw womans skijumping for the first time and it was great. There are so many great sports out there, so why do we only have the option of football (soccer) during periods between the olympics. I know the answer... money money money.

Everything about the winter olympics interests me more than the summer (aside tennis and basketball). The figure skating always blows me away, its probably the most beautiful "dance" in my opinion (flamenco on Ice?!?!?). Watch the Ski cross, holy hell is that fast and dangerous. I love the slope style as well though many traditionalists don't.

The worst place to fall, the TT crashes are terrible (SHOULD BE ILLEGAL) but watching someone ragdoll down a steep piste is horrible, downhill crashes as well.

All the women's events are great to watch and the winter Olympians are so much more beautiful than the summer (i hate to say it).
