But can a phone capture fantasy ?

We need phones that can capture dreams. We can then investigate their mysteries. And leave politicians and multinational companies in peace to go about their altruistic business.

But Fantasy is not reality (bit like Sasquatch) as much, maybe, as we would like it to be. And without the mundane reality who will pay for my new guitar?

RE: Sasquatch (in reply to Johnc

True story...

I was bored on a long drive and picked up a hitchhiker, hoping for a pleasant chat. After the customary preamble this exchange occurred.

The guy said, 'What do you think about clones', I indicated that I was mostly unconcerned. But he persisted 'you know they can clone soldiers who will kill on command.

I took a breath and said this

'I don't really think that that would be cost effective....... if one wanted to have a large force of people who would kill on command it would be much cheaper to encourage class division. Then one could harvest willing adults, exhausted by poverty and a lack oppontunity, for the business end of the military machine. Let their parents do the lions share of the work by paying as best they can for food and nutrition during their early years.

Now you, dear reader, will not be surprised that this didn't quite land as I had hoped, yet I ,ever the optimist, was genuinely taken aback by his next question.

'So do you think clone armies are a GOOD thing ?'

I pulled over by the side of the road and patiently waited for him to unbuckle his seatbelt.

It was on the Perth road here in Scotland near Glencoe, a place of stunning beauty and wildness. In the distance I say a stag stumbling once twice and at the third time fell. Which surprised me.

Rolling down the car window and squinting I saw at his feet six or seven toddlers in khaki onesies gouging his legs with sporks. Somewhat off to the side goading them to more and more violence was Simon Cowell on the back of a Sasquatch.

OK I may have misremembered that last bit.

That's totally silly. The point of peer review is that scientists who are not picked by you make the review. I'm quite sick of conspiracy science baloney on the internet. Just because you watched a video makes it truth? Hooey.

One example of bad internet science "proof" was a map made by NOAA meant to show wave reflective movement through out the Pacific Ocean after the tsunami at Fukushima. There is a data base full of these maps which record wave intensity as it is dispersed thought the ocean after a major siesmic event.

One group of idiots took the map and relabled it to say it was a map of how radiation from Fukushima was being distributed though the ocean. It was pure fabrication and lies.

Here is the NOAA map of wave movement relabeled being used to lie about Fukushima:
http://www.collapsingintoconsciousness.com/at-the-very-least-your-days-of-eating-pacific-ocean-fish-are-over/

The thing that makes me really, really angry about this is that no body cares about looking at the maps of the Asian tsunami that wiped out Thailand and Burma ten years ago. They only steal and repurpose a map that serves their platform of misinformation. They only selfishly use it to misinform people about the state of the Pacific Ocean Vis a vis the Fukushima situation.

Of course it's still being debunked. Publishing a "peer review" of one's own work is a contradiction in terms.

RE: Sasquatch (in reply to Jim Opfer

I had a geometry teacher that was a sasquatch and she was talking about her granddaughters all the time. So yeah, samsquanches do exist and they somehow are able to find a partner and reproduce. Yet, after 2 years of lessons, neither I nor any of my classmates managed to take a picture of the creature... Which is very surprising, to say the least, considering almost everyone had a cell phone with an incorporated camera. No wonder nobody can photograph a wild sasquatch in North America...

Estebanana,

Scientists seem trapped in the system they have made and are unable to break out through fear of reprisal, loss of position, income and status. It's a pitty really when the goal is pursuit of knowledge regardless of where that leads.
The point was (and I did make reference to the ludicrously of her plight) that no scientist or established journal would peer review her findings. They just point blank refused to touch the subject and if it is hokum, peer review would (hopefully) establish that so why not deal with the findings?

I don't know about wave motion from Fukushima but I do know and am very saddened to say that Japan is now destroyed by this disaster and the main stream press are keeping quiet. How long before that wave motion hits the west coast of America and the rest of the Pacific rim.
Answer = Done deal. Who in their right mind would build a nuclear reactor.

The reason established scientists and journals would not review her findings, Jim, is because they do not give the validity and credence that a peer review or valid journal article would give to such "hokum," as you (correctly) suggest that it is. Legitimate scientists and scientific journals peer review, and give credence that such a peer review grants, to those who actually have established through the scientific method that they have reached a conclusion based on the empirical evidence. Legitimate scientists and scientific journals do not squander their well-earned reputations on such nonsense as Sasquatch, Area 51 in Nevada, and abduction by UFO aliens in Roswell, New Mexico.

Cheers,

Bill

Japan is has not been destroyed by the events at Fukushima and the press is not complicit with any conspiracy to keep anything quiet. I watch the Japanese news everyday and they give updates on how the situation progresses.

And wave motion is not what allows any waste material that leaked from Fukushima to move through the ocean. The vehicle are the ocean currents, not waves. The reality is that the material leaking right now is not in enough concentrations to reach the West Coast for three to five more years. It is Cesium and Strontium, the cesuim deteriorates in the ocean and the Strontium is much more dangerous, but still in concentration that is low. Is this good? No.

The issue at Fukushima is natural groundwater washing out under the plant and leaching trace amount of radioactive material into the ocean through a process that was already in place. The malfuctioning reactor is slated to be dismantled beginning this November. Is it going to easy to clean it up? No.

So lets be clear, Japan is not destroyed. What did happen is it created a diaspora of Fukushima people who have relocated to other parts of Japan the same way victims of the Katrina Hurricane moved out of Louisiana. Did Katrina destroy Louisiana? No. It displaced thousands of people and then people from Louisisna went back rebuilt the state. The Japanese people are doing the same thing and struggling with the stigma of ignorance of outsiders misinforming others that Japan is in shambles. Japan is dong just fine except for China nipping it heels over some islands in the East China Sea.

It was interesting for me to watch the selection of the Tokyo to present the next Olympics. It really went a long way to dispel the misinformation that Japan is ruined by the resulting destruction of the 2011 tsunami. I was sorry Spain did not get chosen, but not disappointed Japan will host.

I work at a leading UK research University, one of the Russell group. A tiny element of truth in the above, I grant you, but really we need some perspective here.

New species are being discovered all the time, through proper empirical research, and actually the scientific community gets *very* excited about these things. Your post is timely because this month it happened, a new species of primate (the Lesula) was discovered in the Congo, it made international news;
http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2012/sep/13/new-monkey-species-congo-lesula
http://newswatch.nationalgeographic.com/2012/09/13/new-monkey-discovered-in-the-congo/

As climate change and human activity pushes many species to extinction, discovery of novel species is something that is celebrated. If there is the slightest credible whiff of a new species, and a large one at that, you would have researchers competing to obtain proof, with money following that pursuit.

In terms of closed minds, there is nothing more so than those who who believe in alien abduction, mass conspiracies, that we didn't land on the moon, 9/11 was planned by the government (with the BBC 'predicting' the fall of one of the towers as you firmly believe) etc. Confirmation bias is the preferred MO.

Here is a counter claim where the DNA claimed by Ketchum to be Sasquatch actually turns out to be black bear when tested by an *independent* lab. That word 'independent' is quite important here Jim:

Seems your scientist isn't too keen on results that disagree with hers - doesn't sound very scientific to me.

I wouldn´t lump 9/11 there.

The pseudo sobriety with its official and obedient denial of occured inanity is so arbitrary, incongruent and patched that it makes for a whole other category of plausibility than pragmatic and substantial objections like those discussed in this thread.

- And regarding "climate change and human activity", I would put these two in consequential order, so that the major cause for the climate change may not remain unclear. Hence: "human activity and ( thus drastic) climate change".

Thanks for your comments Blondie#2.
My question was, had anyone seen a Sasquatch and I'm stunned by the reactions of most who responded. Aliens, 911 ....etc.

'The scientific community getting very excited about these things' however, doesn't sequence with the adverse reaction Dr Jeff Meldrum states he continues to experience from colleagues. He does say however, the rejection is the formal view of colleagues but on a one to one basis, they are interested. If you haven't already done so, take a break away from the uni and check him out.

Jim-

So what did you think of Ketchum's evidence being disputed and the fact that an independent lab said it was bear DNA? You suggested we go and look it up and the first thing I find is a video/article which cites evidence that counter her claims and describes events which put her in a very dubious light to say the least.

I'll go and look up this other guy you mention sure, if you agree that Ketchum's claims are suspicious.

I couldn't get the video link to play but I will of course check it out and be interested to hear what is said.

I'm not suggesting she's correct, I just find it strange (if what she says is true and she does seem to be highly qualified) that peer review journals where not interested to check her findings.

Let me know what you think about Dr Jeff Meldrum.

No, they are in the proper order. Climate change has occurred on earth long before humans were even here. And probably more drastically due to NATURAL events, at certain epochs. (I am not arguing that human involvement presently is insignificant. Some people believe that humans are engaged in actual secret engineering of the weather, which I think is up there with aliens and sasquatch ghost hunting. We can do it by accident but not on purpose then?? Waiting for convincing data.)

There are actually people who believe that the contrails (condensation trails) that are formed by jet aircraft are in fact "chemtrails" (chemical trails) that are the result of a deliberate plot to cause drought, and that the resulting starvation will be a form of population control. There appears to be no idea looney enough that some conspiracy theorists will not buy into it.

The 9/11 attacks were deliberately engineered by the U.S. Government. The 1969 moon landing was a deception, actually filmed at the Meteor Crater near Flagstaff, Arizona. Area 51 in Nevada is not a secret base where the U.S. Air Force tests highly classified aircraft such as the old U-2, SR-71, and B-1; no, silly boy, it is really where the Air Force is keeping the evidence of UFOs from the American public. Those "black helicopters" that are rarely seen are really preparing the groundwork for the United Nations to take over the United States. It goes on and on in a never-ending cavalcade of nonsense.

Cheers,

Bill

Ricardo,

To list like
quote:

"climate change and human activity"
implies no clue on chronological order, buit it does in regard of causality. Which again in such a way would be reflecting conditions upside down.

Common science notes that the current course of events that precondition an extinction of species so rigorous and accelerated that its fatality can´t be compared to fomer cuts in earth history. With these factors since years now undisputedly observed as caused by menkind; including the climate change.

From there, no use in playing down the ecological hazard that we are causing.
-

What 9/11 is concerned, it should not require too much of sophistication and realization to see the overwhelming measures of impossible coincidences, and lesser even to note the gaps and nonesense that is supposed to officially surface way too absurd happenings.

To keep craddling oneself to sleep on such flimmsy obliterate one needs to be either humble in regard of thinking ability or psychologically too fragile to face the medusa. - Or unscrupulous, naturally.

The radical unethics going on since so long and now ever more untouched, leave behind starving and perishing people and creatures while mercylessly amassing wealth that can´t even be overlooked by its owners.

Despite of just the economically based cruelty of the past decades since WWII a host of fools is still reluctant to grope so obvious inhumanity behind official soap operas, while an even larger number of eloys won´t yet come to wondering about growing perversity and indifference in the same time.

Without the striking situation of global anaesthesia noone would had dared to even try give out something as ridiculously blatant like the explanation about 9/11 as mishapes.

Mindsets that can´t see a difference between the moonlanding and 9/11 are missing a cognitive base. They float freely in whatever direction PR winds blow.

They could probably be reprogrammed within weeks or months.
All needed would be regular / official sequencing of the desired interpretation. As ever.

Fox TV wins. And when coming in conjunction with an aim to blur personal background of privileges and wishful thinking it `works like a dream´.

Hi Ruphus,
Sorry, you've lost me in all of that. I'm sure it all makes sense and just that I can't get it.
Sasquatch has moved of in all sorts of unplanned directions.
As for 911, I started a thread on that before and don't want to divert down that line again albeit I firmly believe the official story is full of holes.

RE: Sasquatch (in reply to Ruphus

I have to confess I belong to a secret society called the Priory of Sasquach. A secret organization which has kept the Bigfoot hidden for centuries. We don't want these creatures to be found so we invented a plethora of phenomena like Chemtrails and UFO sightings to foster a cottage industry of misinformation. We invented the internet in order to better desemenate this information and employ satellites to broadcast the confusion to the outer reaches of the Earths solar system.

By fabricating this net of pseudo-scientific jargon and imagined natural phenomena we have now effectively cast up a blank wall of darkness in which to hide the Sasquach creatures. By manipulating this oblique world of conspiracy we effectively discredit any persons who try to legitimize any searches for the creature we are sworn to protect.

The Priory upper staff has duly noted your inquires and you shall be hereby notified you are on high value observation status. We will use you as a key target observation subject. This will further ensure that those nefarious parties getting close infiltrating our organization will be observing the Priory whist it observes the Foro Observing Bigfoot dummy evidence we have supplied as bait to throw Bigfoot seekers off the true path.

Hi Jim,

I was basically pointing to the same thing.
It is just annoying when very vague topics are being lumped with patent circumstances like the absurd official patch-up layout on 9/11. Otherwise I would had preferred sticking to hypothetical traces of tall hairy guys in the woods.

RE: Sasquatch (in reply to estebanana

And here is the rub. The Knights Templar were the most powerful medieval order in Europe until France's king Phillip "le Bel" (The Fair) ordered them arrested and put on trial for the crime of heresy. On October 13, 1307, Phillip le Bel sent his Seneschals throughout France and beyond and arrested members of the order. They were tried, convicted, and executed for having committed heresy by bringing back vile practices picked up in the Near East. Some, however, managed to escape, and they and their heirs have existed and infiltrated society to this very day, unbeknownst to the general public. The same infiltration of society has been accomplished by the Order of the Rosicrucians.

Most ominous of all, the above orders are but segments of a much larger conspiracy that runs the world today: The ILLUMINATI! The Illuminati, much like pod-people, have infiltrated the very core of human society. It is the Illuminati that were responsible for 9/11, the moon landing hoax, the sasquatch diversion, chemtrails, the Black Helicopters, and all manner of ills that have plagued mankind for centuries. It is the Illuminati, the Illuminati, the Illuminati....

Cheers,

Bill
