"Flamingo" in Barcelona?

Here we go agasin, with that damn' 'flamingo' word!

Seems to me I also posted something about this a little while ago?

Anyway, this time it was an extremely chesty Italian lady in the swimming pool. who was curious why I wore a rubber glove on my right hand when swimming.

While trying to politely explain that it was to protect my right hand nails from damage from the water - because I needed my nails to play FLAMENCO guitar - the lady's face lit up and ; ". . . Oh, my husband and I are going to Barcelona, and he is just dying to see some of that "Flamingo" dancing, with those gypsy girls, and all. . ."

She bubbled on: "He also wants to see some of the "Flamingo" guitar playing, too. "Do they use guitars to play for the dancing girls?". "And do you know of any good places in Barcelona where we can see "Flamingo" dancing, and guitar playing?"

After politely explaining that the word was "Flamencoi" NOT "Flamingo" (God knows how many times I have had to say this in recent years - must be at least dozens, if not hundreds?). I advised the (incredibly) voluptuous lady that Barcelona was in a region in the North of Spain known as Cataluna, and that - while I had travelled extensively in Spain in my youth - I had never been in Barcelona. But if she and her lucky husband cared to travel to Madrid or Sevilla, they might have more luck with seeing a wider variety of "flam(ING)enco" shows.

That being said, does anybody in here on the Foro know of any good flamenco spots in Barcelona, that I can tell her about, next time I see her in the swimming pool?

I'd really like another excuse to drool over that ample cleavage. . .

(Well; what else can one do at 78 years old???)

Considering Carmen Amaya, Miguel Poveda, Duquende, and others all come from the region you would expect there to be a few places. And there are! Most of them are touristy tablaos. I went to Barcelona in 2008 pre-economic crisis so some of my information might be outdated. Based on that information, Sala Tarantos (http://www.masimas.com/en/tarantos) might be the best bet for authentic flamenco in Barcelona. I mean "authentic flamingo".
