Kevin Richards No 29 and No 30 BOTH SOLD

After moving house last June, and after various setbacks, I've completed two blancas in my new workshop in York.
I want to sell one but I don't know which to sell and which to keep.

No 29 is Spruce/Cypress with traditional yellow French polish.
No 30 is also Spruce/cypress but wider grained and with a clear lacquer finish.

Scale length 655mm
Rubner tuners

There are photos etc on my Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/#!/kevin.richards.1048554 and videos on You tube

Anyone is welcome to visit here in York to try these guitars.
Price £1200 including a semi hard case

No29 is a lovely instrument, I know Louis_B has played it, and No30 sounds slightly more 'crisp' to my untutored ear.

Is that the case or is it down to the recordings?

The sound is more or less a faithful reproduction. I use a Samson USB mic with the web cam on my laptop. I find the whole business of recording is a nightmare. Apart from technical difficulties I then have the problem of actually playing something that will do justice to the guitars.....very tricky!

You're right, No 30 is crisper. That's a good way to describe it. No 29 has cleaner basses but they are quite similar overall.

I don't know which I prefer; I'm hoping someone will buy one and make the decision for me.

Hi Kevin,
I saw and heard your recently finished guitars, great instruments.
The negra no.24 I bought from you last year is also muy bueno!
Hope these two guitars soon will find there way to a beginner (just like me) or advanced player.
Hope you are doing well after moving to York.
Best wishes from the Netherlands,
Geert.

The one in the second video has a slightly more balanced and focused voice IMO which I prefer. Both are nice guitars.

Thanks for your interest and observations. They are still for sale and sounding even better with high tension 'Royal Classics' instead of the standard D'Addario normal tension strings.

These guitars are still for sale; price £1200 including a semi-hard case.

The price may be modest but they are both very good instruments. Somebody out there can get themselves a bargain.

These guitars are now sold.
I'm working on No 31, a rosewood negra, should be ready end of August.

Nice Kevin, both. I like the sharpness of the 2nd one a bit more.

How did you get the yellow? Was it stain? That is what I was hoping for when I bought the 'Yellow' shellac flakes I posted about, obviously in error.

RE: Kevin Richards No 29 and No 30 (in reply to El Burdo

Thanks.

The yellow is simply 'orange' French polish from the 'orange' shellac flakes from Rydenor.
