I feel like i should post something

I feel like I should post something...to stay active...but...i got nothing new exciting flamencowise...(transcribing some beautiful stuff i am very much enjoying atm but its not on video or recorded yet...

so ...who wants to see my homemade outdoor cinema i built for my girlfriend for valentines ?? (kind of proud of it) don't let em tell you Aussies aren't romantic

with the outdoor wind took me 40 minutes to light all the candles ( and i didnt even have THAT many) which makes those romantic movies bul**hit...where they enter a room and all of the sudden ...they making love in a room filled with 200 candles...when the f*ck did he light those ? it would surely kill the moment for 1 hour

Hi Florian,

Thanks for doing the fact checking on that candle lighting in the film issue. You saved a lot of us from feel guilty for not lighting more candles.

Fine cinema, what **** romantic movie did you suffer through? I've been evading going to Les Miserables for three months now.

Style points for the poofie napkins in the wine glasses.

Casanova ( i don't mind that its a comedy ) and its very visually beautiful cause its filmed in Venice, period piece, nice costumes, funny at times etc.. ..

and i did a search in google to see what people say its the best movie for valentines...they all said Casablanca...thats all you ever hear Casablanca !!...we tried it...i could not last 10 minutes lol..seemed too slow

Les Miserables...

I got it, i tried watching it with my girlfriend ...we both bad with musicals, not crazy about em lol cant keep a straight face...especially when Russel Crowe started singing hehe, 3 times we started it ...he starts singing ...that's it...we start laughing and then decide we gonna try it another time...one day...everyone says its a good movie...so i have to try it

btw i love finding the absolute worst movies in the world and download them all...i love making my girlfriend sit through them and pretend that i am serious...to see at what point she stops me...here is what we have this week..

Those movies look incredible!!!

Good job on the romantic stuff, you may have f**ed up by setting the bar that high though, what are you gunna do next year?

at least Russel Crowe hit his notes (more or less), what about Hugh Jackman's "singing"? That's what cracked me up... total fail. Maybe it was just painful for you?

and i was trapped in a cinema with it for 3 freakin hours

I dont know... i could stomach hugh easier ...I cannot take Russel singing lol

the cat....hmm...kind of a funny story....4 days after i got it a student came over...i foghot to check for her....wasen't used to it...must have runned out under his feet when he left...2 hours later i noticed that there's no cat around

tried putting in the lost section in the local paper etc.. nothing...

I do that all the time with my little sister!

99% of what I say to her is total nonsense. I just talk sh*t to her until either she starts to hit me or I get completely ignored. Her friends say I'm the coolest brother in the World because of that.

Haha it's my favourite hobby.

But I don't do it just for fun, I think it is an important part of growing up. Because of that, she has an answer to everything and if anyone tries to mock with her she can easily deal with it and tell them to f*ck off.

But well... the poor girl suffers a lot by putting up with me...

Hopefully it is OK and living with someone else. My first cat ran out the door a few hours after we brought him home. Luckily he was waiting at the front door in the morning. Makes me wonder if he had considered trying to get back to his mother and siblings since he cried and tears rolled down his cheeks on the way home...

oh i am sorry i missed that......yes i know i was thinking the same thing...might need to brake up with her lol...jk

no like i said last year's valentines was so modest cause i was in a middle of a show, she never once complained or was bitter i thought this year she deserved the best i could

as a concept i hate the way retailers try to shove valentines down your throat and the advertising on tv for it that makes all of us fell like we not doing enough

lol she is a cool chick...with you for the good times and the not so good

deserves anything good that i can do for her...and look at her face in the photo, that was priceless lol she really didn't see it coming, she was genuinely surprised and over the moon...could not wipe that smile of all night

also ...this was the backyard just 1 month before...not very romantic hmm lol...i guess it shows more how long i been planning it and how much work ive done towards it..

You would have loved "de nacht van de wansmaak/the night of bad taste" screening at IFFR, other film festivals. The programmer shared our love for finding "the absolute worst movies" and having access to various film archives was in an excellent position to do so. The nightly event (showing trailers and extracts from both movies and (government) educational movies) became one of the most popular items of the IFFR and i never missed an opportunity to attend the various editions. It's status became so big it even went on tour, visiting various towns in the Netherlands and Belgium. One of it's charms were the long and enthusiastic introductions that preceded each trailer/extract which were at least as enjoyable as the fragments itself (if not more). If you google "nacht van de wansmaak" you might find some titles to your likings.
