The top appears to be Western Red Cedar. The back and sides are hard to tell from the photo...maybe it's what they've been calling Coral?

Judging by the Rosewood fingerboard and general appearance of the guitar I'd guess it's a stencil (made for Carrillo by someone else).

It looks like a three piece Spruce top with lots of yellowish finish and Sapele or Mahogany sides and back.

That looks like Padauk back and sides to me. Padauk looks very similar to Magogany but is a lighter shade with much more red than brown mahogany. Also has a fantastic quality where in sunlight the wood appears full of three dimensional red highlights. It can be quite stunning.

Interesting, when I looked at the pictures, I did not feel any commonality between them and my former guitar, a Vicente Carillo blanca from around 2002 or so.

More familiar with the flamencos since PDL model appeared...but this is a classical guitar probably why it looks unique to some of us.

Head cut doesn't look so elaborate as his top model flamenco, probably a student model but just a guess.

I own a Carrillo blanca and used to own a Brazillian Rosewood, both flamenco guitars (non-PDLs) made in 2002 and 2004 respectively. Great guitars, but, from what I can tell from your pics, the headstock does not seem the same. The signature on the label is right though.

Why not asking Vicente Carrillo directly? He should know at best about this guitar.

Thanks for all your replies. :)

I have sent Carillo a mail, but still no reply, they must be busy makin guitars i guess. :)

I think the back and sides seem lighter than mahogany so it may be Padauk as you mention.

I just got it restringed and it really plays great.. :D

Back and sides appear to be Mahogany although I suppose it could be Sapele or even Spanish Cedar. I still say the top is Western Red Cedar. The Padauk I have is a much darker color...more of a dark maroon.
