Here's the new video clip of Vicente Amigo "Roma".

RE: Vicente's New Video Clip (in reply to gounaro

That's a beautiful video. I just hope his other new songs will be more complex(even if there are other instruments). I have always regarded Vicente as a guitarist who plays extremely difficult and interesting material but this one was just one chord progression(which was nice though).

I like the video concept/idea, but they could have done a better job syncing the sound with the parts where he is actually playing...

Agree about the video editing. Who let that ending stand as is?

I feel like, if you pulled out the other instruments you could pick any random point of the song and it would all be more or less the same.

I mean Vicente has great sense for melodies and again, this one instantly burnt into my head, but it is REALLY SIMPLE compared to his previous work.

Oh no don't tell Tom, it not a Reyes or a Navarro but a Graciliano Perez he is using in the video and on multiple tracks on his new album.

Don't worry he'll still find a way to bring up something about his plans or a navarro. It has become inevitable.

It looked a bit like "outdoors guitar" if at least judging by the looks of the rosette and rosewood fingerboard, to me at least. Is this some kind of sponsor deal?

To me it very much looks like a Wayne-guitar.

It's product placement! There is no such thing as coincidence in clips like this. there is money involved in every least little detail. Every object is part of a profitable deal. Vicente knows it, I like that. Commercial pro!!

Well he better know as he's getting paid for it! I suppose the bike was also some kind of product placement... Money rules but duende lives on... For now... ... I hope.

Nope no product endorsement on that guitar sorry.
I think Vicente just loves small artisan makers.
The guy is not Nike, he makes maybe 20 guitars a year, so I don't see any real money coming Amigos way for propping that guitar; unless the guy starts putting his label in thousands of Valencia guitars, or opens a factory in China.

RE: Vicente's New Video Clip (in reply to gounaro

lovely melody but i must say it felt like it didn't build up to any nice release ..

it sounded like it kept building up to something and then it ended...some soloing at the end would have been nice for me

I suppose I should have known better, as the builder's from cordoba.

It's the rosewood fretboard and color of the rosette that made me think of it as a cheaper end guitar. these days expensive flamencos come rarely with a rosewood fretboard and I don't know why is that as often in electric guitars it is sometimes preferred fretboard material over ebony tonewise

the fretboard is ebony.

some people say graciliano guitar is not good finish,i dont know.
But for sure it's easy to play and good sonority.

Very brown ebony then, if you look at the video at 0:50

Not all ebony is completely black. There are species that have streaks of other colors. The natural sunlight of the video shoot will also make those natural colors pop more. If you check the video of him demo'ing the Graciliano he is playing it looks much more black via the webcam.

Yeah, I find this song a little disconcerting because -- technique-wise -- it by no means represents that of which Vicente's capable.

But then I have to remind myself: sometimes when practicing I stumble across some chord progression which I find mesmerizing but which doesn't challenge me technically. And I keep playing that over and over, just because it strikes me as good music. I'm guessing/hoping this is that kind of song for Vicente...
