Lester DeVoe guitars are second to none, and this is great example of his 1a primera blanca constructed in 1996 at his Long Look Farm, Maine shop. His guitars are known for their excellent playability and tone in the style of legendary maker Santos Hernandez. The late Sabicas exclusively played Lester’s guitars just before his passing, and DeVoe guitars are now being used for recording by famous flamenco guitarists such as maestro Paco de Lucia, premier flamenco guitarist, Vicente Amigo, along with El Viejin and Juan Martin among others.

The guitar is in overall great condition with minor wear on the top and sides that can only be seen against the light. The top has very tighly grained German spruce and unique bearclaw markings just below the bridge. The neck is perfectly straight and frets have almost no wear whatsoever. The tone response is quick and loud with the cutting edge that only few makers are able to obtain such as Reyes Sr. and Barba to name a few. The action is superb and intonation is incredible. This is a perfect guitar for recording due to its overall string balance, volume and depth. The price is $6300 without having to be on Lester’s ever-growing 70+ person waiting list.
