Boot Camp update

We have enough to make deposits on the accommodation so I will be in Spain next week to check things out and reserve the villas.

There is room for another 10-11 guests, so please have a good think about coming and get your deposit in. Balance is due in February 2013.

We have another guitarist in the team (Pimientito), so we can cover beginners and intermediates. Mark is also looking to bring a dancer with him for a couple of days for some dance accompanying classes.

Please see the web site for details. Just click on the banner in my signature, below.

RE: Boot Camp update (in reply to Escribano

I'm relatively new to the foro and flamenco in general (started less than 2 years ago) so I don't really know the other members here. But, I love flamenco and would love to go to Spain! My wife and I were talking about the possiblity of me going to this event, so I'd say that I'm a 50/50 right now.

So what constitutes an intermediate player (as indicated on the website) vs. an advanced player? As of today I have over 800 hours of flamenco practice in, and almost 3,000 hours on guitar overall. While I can play some fairly nice stuff, I'm certainly no professional like Ricardo. Some of the more advanced stuff I can play are several pieces from Paco Pena's Toques Flamenco (specifically the Soleares, Rumba, Taranta, and the Farruca), Sabicas' Punta Y Tacon, and several of Juan Martin's pieces from his advanced book, including the Rondena, Zambra Mora, Solea Por Medio, Tangos, Rumba Nostalgica, etc.

Where do you think I would fall? Considering that I'll continue to practice an average of 70 minutes per day between now and April, I'll make further improvements.

Simon,
I won't be able to make it to the Boot Camp unfortunately.

Last week I am offered an internal job subscription in India for at least a half a year to a year.
It all has to do with short time cost reduction as we are implementing IT-as-a-Service on different levels.
Main goal is to get the cultural differences back on one line. We notice that people learning the job here in the west, totally change when they are back in India.
So quality wise it is a big issue.

For me this is a great oppurtunity and challenge offcourse and decided to go for it!

Don't worry about the pre-payment, that's totally donated for the Bootcamp/Foro!

Thanks for the update. I can hardly wait! I fall under the "beginner" class, so hopefully there's enough room/space for me. I already made my deposit earlier last month.

In the boot camp banner on the left of the main page, is that Doitsujin at the bottom looking creepy while holding that guitar?
