Felipe Conde FP15 [new] €2790 Europe

Hello,

I've been lurking in the forums for a few weeks and now decided to make my first post to sell my guitar. It's a new Felipe Conde FP15. The reason I'm selling is is rather unusual I think:

I have ADD and always need to fight my ridiculous impulsiveness when it comes to big financial decisions. Basically I get excited about one thing, completely blank everything out and think about what I've done when it is way too late. This happened to me here. I got it in my head that I need a really expensive flamenco guitar, and I tried some guitars at mundo-flamenco and spend 2,5h trying to find the best one. While I did carefully try out all guitars and payed close attention to their tone, I never really considered, if I'm actually prepared to pay such huge amounts of money or if any of those guitars are worth it for me personally. They sure were all great guitars, but do I get so much out of them that I want to spend €3000 on them, especially since I don't have much more than that on my account? The answer is a definite no. I don't think even the greatest flamenco-guitar in the world would be worth that much to me. Sadly, I chose the best guitar and just went with it. Since what I did dawned on me pretty early, I only played it once yesterday and am now storing it at the right conditions to make sure I can actually sell it as a new guitar without bending the truth.

I'd also appreciate any tips for good ways and places to sell such a guitar, especially in Germany, since I'm pretty much new to the scene. How hard is it to sell Flamenco guitars over here anyway? I kinda fear that since the market here is so small it might take forever to find someone.

About the guitar itself:

It's the exact guitar from this link:
Felipe Conde FP15

My location is near Frankfurt in Germany.

In case the link doesn't work or gets taken out from the webcache (no idea how long google stores that stuff) contact me

I know just what you mean. I do the same with cameras and lenses. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your sale. Try and join in some discussions in return for your free ad

Hi Onkel cannabia
Welcome to the foro!
I am not from Germany, so I am not sure, but I think this is the best site to sell your guitar in Germany.
Good luck!

Don't worry, I registered here to join the community. My first post just happened to be an ad. Any tips on where else I could put up an ad, preferably for Europe/Germany? I've heard about "classicalguitardelcamp", but they require 20 posts.

God, I feel like such an idiot. That's why I decided to never every buy anything without sleeping over it. When it came to my most expensive purchase yet, I had to break that rule

I feel with you.

Apparently the market for flamencas in Germany isn´t that small. After all the store you purchased from is one of the biggest for flamencas in Europe, if not the largest. It might give you some hope about market demand.
For ads you might try www.quoka.de, Thomann and Kijiji.

I have experienced Johannes Inhoffen, the owner of the store, as an amenable person. You could write him an e-mail, telling him of your situation and see what he replies. Possibly he´ll take the guitar back with a small discount. Eventually smaller than the write off you would have to count with at private sale.

After all, eventhough Germans are vastly ignoring the recession / still shopping in a blue-eyed way, buyers will probably expect a significant rebate with a new instrument from a private seller.

In fact rather newbies seem to set great value on new / mint instruments like comparably with cars or stereos. Whereas advanced users appreciate the value ratio with second hand quality instruments.
And at 3000 bucks treshold you are entering the advanced section.

Thanks Ruphus, you have been very helpful. I haven't bought or sold products from anything other than local stores or online retailers in a very long time. I definitely needed the help.

Unfortunately Johannes hasn't been very understanding. He said I could exchanged it for another guitar of equal value, but he's not gonna take it back. Looks like I'm stuck with it, and now that my financial situation has changed very recently I kinda need the money. It's no tragedy, since I'm certainly not poor, but it makes things very inconvenient.

I agree with your last paragraph. It's something I haven't considered. I feel the same way about used guitars. Used guitars for me have almost the same practical value as new ones. The deal I'm offering is pretty awesome if you think about it. It's €210 less for a guitar that has been played once. People just need to see it the same way ;). I might go down another €100 if it takes too long, just to get it over with.
