Welcome to the Forum, Sendero!
Sorry to hear of your condition. Actually there are a couple of members here already who have hand problems, both good musicians who play excellently.
The love of the guitar has just made them work around their problems, adjusting their technique and their practise routine accordingly.
It's good that you've rediscovered the guitar and the theraputic effect it can have on the mind, even if it is just playing around for an hour or so a day.
When I get the guitar out, I can forget about the world for a while.
It's like a few double whiskies, but without the hangover!
