Anders,

It's a joy to listen to your playing; I don't know much about violins but it sounds amazing!

You're a grumpy genius

Nice Anders!

The danser on the painting behind you moves on the music!

The sound of the violin is beautiful! Nice deep tones, and good balance overall.

RE: Building violin no. 1 (in reply to Elie

Thanks for your kind words.

Yes, I´m very content with the fiddle and also with my playing. The fiddle sounds really good, I think. Its only 3 weeks old and still has a strong smell of varnish. Normally they dont string them up this early, but I thought that it could as well dry, while I was playing it.
I´ve played a little less than 1 year now. Its a long time ago since I recorded myself, which is a fault. I can hear that I play a lot better now, but I can also hear that there are some things I have to work on. Its to monotonous and lacks some space. Two much pressure on the bow, not enough lilt. To stressy..

Peter, I knew you would comment on the painting. I really like that painting (which is by a friend of mine)
Yes, maybe I should go and live near Galway. Good idea, or maybe I should just go there once again to have a look and a listen. I was there in summer 1981, 19 years old, playing the guitar and singing in pubs for free drinks and hitchiking aroud. But Ireland has changed enourmously in these 30 years. It was poor, but its also the friendliest place I´ve ever been. Really layed back.

What a handsome arty photo! And looks like fun in Sevilla. I wonder how that kind of music was received by the locals.

We play mostly irish, some scottish, Asturian and gallego and it seems like the local indians like it a lot. It was full that night. And extremely noisy as always in Andalucia. But the good news were that my new fiddle cut well through the noise.

The firtst is really artistic! Cool use of colour and black/white.
You seem to enjoy yourself in the second foto where in Sevilla the bar is located?

The session photo is from a bar near the river and near the Macarena. The street you see in the background is the one running parallel to the river. In google maps, write:
Taberna del Dragón Verde, Calle Avicena, Sevilla

The arty photo, I made on the Ipad using Photogene and colorblast lite. The Ipad is such a fun thing when it comes to photos (and many other things) But the apps, tend to blur photos more than photoshop.
