Check it out, i am trying to quit sm...

its pretty cool, too early to tell, just arrived today...but the fact that what looks and feels and tastes like smoke comes out when you smoke its a big help...into fouling my brain that its not that different from a real cigarette...and that i am smoking

ive tried everything...hoping since this comes with tabaco flavors and water based smoke that tastes and feels like cigarette, it covers all aspects of craving

if anyone else is in the same situation and wants to try, il give you the link of where i ordered

what pisses me off the most is that here in Australia where the government charges most tax in the world for cigarettes costs you like $22 for a packet, under the pretext that they are doing it to help you quit...(like you're addicted, might as well be broke)...this type of electric cigarette is not available for purchase only in Us, Singapore, and every other country in the world...but Australia...the government that goes that extra step for your health...by making you broke too

yes thank you for worrying about my health

Being an ex-smoker -

Here's how you quit smoking. It's simple. Don't light another, and don't
look for an alternative. Suffer the hell of a few days withdrawal, and you
will be done.

Regards,
Jeff

Actually the problem with devices and alternatives is that you remove the
cigarette, BUT you don't kill the addiction. So you are still an addict. That goes
for Nicotine gum, electric cigarettes, etc. Only way to stop is to kill the addiction,
in my experience that only goes away by just stopping all at once.

Jeff

A friend of mine just told me he went 45min by train to a location where to meet a landlord... there he waited 30min till this guy finally showed up in a car.
The landlord then asked: Do you smoke?
He: Occasionally
Landlord: ou.. well,..good bye. *Jumps in his car and drives away.
My friend took next train back... lol

So be happy you stop smoking. Coz that would never happen to a non.smoker.

problem is, i dont want to quit really, i enjoy cigarets (being honest with you and myself)...i am quitting cause of the money it costs..,.and cause i should...but i just cant do it cold turkey tried many times..atleast if i get addicted to electric cigarets i am not spending $22 a day and i am not dying of cancer...as far as we know now (its water and flavor based)...so if my choice is to still enjoy smoking...without smoking and the bad that comes with it ( the hole in your pocket, the smell, the heightened risk of medical problems) and avoiding the terrible cold turkey time in between...why not

i dont care by which way i quit as long as i do and its something i can manage...this seems like less of a transition...even if i substitute every 2nd packet with the electric, its a start, an improvement

One time i went 1h by train and the landlord showed up 10 min later ON A BIKE. I wanted to have a look at the flat room but he had no keys. Further he let me know that there is no kitchen in the appartment. Now, i am a non-smoker. If we combine the 2 stories, i guess the conclusion is that some landlords are just weird?

Yeah, that's a problem. I had that as well, so I got addicted to nicorette gum,
then smokeless tobacco, etc. Finally did want to quit and that's when I could
do it. Don't miss it at all now.

It's a nasty addiction, because it makes you want to not quit. Until your health
start suffering from it. It's not just the smoke, the nicotine is bad for you in
itself (heart, etc)

Because by not really giving up smoking and by virtue of using this fake ciggie, you will inevitably one day have a real ciggie and that will be the start of the slippery path back to full addiction. I smoked for 35 years before giving up 8 years ago. Yes the first 2-3 weeks were hard but not as hard as I thought or imagined. Please try again to give up completely, I had a couple of false starts, you won't regret it.
All the best.

RE: Check it out, i am trying to qui... (in reply to Derek Woulds

thank you guys for the advice, took everything on board

I am gonna try...

Derek i understand...hopefully changing from real to electric and then from electric to no smoking might be easier.....if i can tell myself, well i dont need a cigarette cause i been doing it on just this electric one which is not real...so eventually it might be an easier transition...its meant to be a temporary thing...not fully substitute cigarets for the rest of my life with it...hopefully a small step in the right direction

i had a few guys who said they managed to quit with them...one just messaged me on Facebook and said he did the same and hasent had a cigarette in 2 years now...that's very encouraging to me

i am not some casual, social, weekend smoker, i am a committed smoker who loves it !! ive never quited anything in my whole life/....except things that are good for me

...its this or smoking...no cold turkey for me (i could say yes...but id be lying to you and to myself, i know myself, i have very little willpower when it comes to whats good for me )......i am trying ...knowing how i work..i need to do this in my own way...in a way i know i might be able to handle it and stand a chance

i admire all those of you that managed to go cold turkey, and i dont wanna dismiss it...but i know what i can and cant do ....its not me...id be giving strangers BJ's in the park for cigarettes

id would to be able to come back on this thread a few month from now and say it worked...if this dosent work either my next step is hypnotism...i dont care how i do it as long as i do it and it dosent have to be cold turkey

now i feel bad and like a hypocrite keeping you occupied with this crap (cause yesterday i was winging on how we not discussing enough flamenco)..never imagined this would get so much feedback...just a quick vid to show what i got

thank you for the advice, i really appreciate it

For me the easiest way and the hardest were the same, just brute force
stopping. Had to overcome the desire to dig cigarette butts from the trash,
and avoid licking ashtrays around the house. I'm not joking either
that nicotine is some demanding stuff! Just pure f-ing sufferage
BUT it went away bit by bit and about 4 days in or so I realized "hey I
didn't think about a cigarette in the last hour!".

By 3-4 day you'll be off enough to stay quit. It's really hard though, lock
yourself in a cage for a week, do whatever it takes.

You will never regret it after you quit.

RE: Check it out, i am trying to qui... (in reply to Florian

I started smoking when I was 16, to be "one of the guys" in high school. Twelve years later I had my first eight-hour per day indoor job, working on engineering problems that weren't solved by the people responsible for them. A fair amount of time was spent staring at the walls and ceiling, thinking, "Now what?" Then I would light up a cigarette.

I went from a third or a half pack a day to a full pack a day. Made me feel bad, so I quit. But my lovely young wife of a few months smoked, too. Over a second cup of coffee on Saturday morning, I would light one of hers. Eventually I would be back to regular smoking.

So I asked her, as a favor to me, to quit. Bless her heart, she did. It was easy for me to quit, and easy to stay quit, no problem at all.

Years later we were driving down the street, when she said, "Do you know what day today is?"

Dreading the answer, I said, "No, what day is it?"

"It's been ten years since I had a cigarette."

"And you still want one..."

"Yes."

I bought her a dozen roses and took her out for a nice dinner.

It's easy to quit for some, very hard for others.

RNJ

...yes, I know I've posted this before, but I'm 74 and can pretend that I have forgotten that I did.

I quit maybe 15 years ago. I was never that heavy a smoker-not a pack a day guy, maybe 5 or so a day. I really did enjoy my smokes. But now I don't miss it at all. I went to vegas a few years ago and bought a pack. You can smoke anywhere in vegas and I thought it might be cool to have a smoke in a restaurant after eating. I lit one up , took a drag or two and tossed the whole pack. Tasted foul.
My wife is trying to quit with the same thingy flo has. She hasn't bought or had any cigs for about a month but the jury is still out on if she will be able to kick it for good. She's tried before..........
I know it's pretty hard to kick it if your a pack a day person. A high school friend of mine just died of lung cancer. We used to smoke all kinds of weed in high school but I guess he got on with the cigs and kept on. He was 54.

Those electrical cigarette things are not legal in Norway so I never got one, but I think I would have tried it if I could get it.
The health department here is really paranoid about things like this.

Sorry about your friend Mark2 and good luck to your wife.

Forget this toy. Convert to a party smoker. Then you do not smoke more than 5 a night and dont even have to pay for them. Just ask for a cigarette. And what better way to get in contact with people than to smoke a cig together?

its not that they paranoid...they probably dont wanna loose the huge government tax lol
here in Australia u get into more trouble if you get caught growing your own tabaco (which is dimmed legal) than growing marijuana (which is dimmed illegal) or selling it

A guy I went to school with certainly must have seen something in it, he went to an utility store and bought tons of hemp rope, he cut it up into little pieces and tried to smoke it with only paper around it.

Kids today...

*Edit* His reaction was priceless, but his expectations was shattered!
