and go to contact you can find the email of Ron.
At this moment you can make a great deal on the Navarro Reyes.
I'm not giving a price here on the forum but the price is really far under the 3500 dollar. Good luck;-)

maybe you can check out this Shelton Faretta if you can't find your navarro or castillo. at 1400, seems like a big bargain.

Every time I check EBay I sit and hover on the "place bid button" when I'm looking at that guitar. I started to buy it but I have elected to have John and Susan build me a new one... That guitar is way under priced to say the least. Also Tom has A Shelton-Farretta top-of-the-line double body listed here in the foro classifieds for an unbelievably low price... I would be happy to own either of those instruments. Heck, give me both of them!

Quick question, hav any of you heard of this luthier:

Manual Raimundo from Valnecia, Spain

For sale is a very beautiful and amazing sounding handmade flamenco guitar from Valencia Spain. The guitar is hand signed by the Luther Manuel Raimundo and is model 145F from 1993 (Retails for about $2500). The guitar has a very rich tone and plays amazing ! The guitar was handcrafted from solid cypress on the back and sides (the most sought after flamenco wood combination). It has fitted clear golpeadores (tapping plates). The neck has an ebony reinforcement strip. Scale length is 650mm with 51.5-52mm at Nut.
The condition is excellent except for two very tiny dings one on the back (size of a nail head) and one on the corner of the head.....trust me very minor. Other than that, it is in mint condition. More Pictures upon request. No low-ball offers please !
Worth checking out !

yes, and I have played a blanca from Raimundo and I did not like it at all.

I've tried the exact same model in a shop...though it was from a much recent year, and wasn't signed...
good guitar, but far from the level of a Castillo, so simply don't expect too much...
I think Raimundos are good bang for the price in the entry level category...

Hi, I just got a new Navarro, student model, where I had a few custom things done and it was made largely by Francisco Navarro's son, Marlan Navarro. It's a pegger with a Conde-like headstock, spruce/cypress, and very light. Soundboard, of course, still breaking in but already has good sound. I think it is one of the best guitars you can get for that price. I've only heard good things about Castillo but they cost a little more. You can special order Navarros through Ron Hudson -- Google him. The guitar I had made is far better than anything in the U.S. market for that price. (As for Raimundo 145f. I had one once and was very disappointed. I think they are almost all factory made. It was heavy, with dull sound.) Good luck!

Hey what a coincidence you just posted this while I discovered the Navarro conde on ebay? Any thoughts and reviews? Say comparing to a real conde "if" you have owned or played one?

I too thought the orange Navarro on EBay was kind of cool. Keep in mind though that only the color and headstock are Conde like. The add says that guitar was built on the Reyes bracing plan. Its a cool guitar for the money and a good one I would bet, but isn't a copy of a Conde except for the looks. I'm also sure that if you contacted Ron Hudson you could get that EBay guitar cheaper than what he's selling it for on there. If for no other reason than it would save him the sellers fee on EBay.

EDIT!!

The orange Navarro with Reyes bracing is gone! It was there yesterday... Now I do see a Navarro with Conde bracing... This Navarro with Conde bracing is also $50 cheaper than the orange Navarro with Reyes bracing was. Strange...

Now its time for my observations which are based on the guitars I have played. These statements aren't across the board, they are just based on what I have played. First off, if you want a flamenco guitar a Raimundo won't cut it. Both Castillo and Navarro are so many levels above Raimundo its not even possible to compare the 3. If someone is going to try to get off as cheap as possible they would be better off any day with a Navarro student model than a Raimundo.

Now for my other observation: For my playing style Castillo works better than Navarro. I have owned 2 Castillos and 1 Navarro. The Navarro just didn't have the snappy attack of my Castillos. Keep in mind this wasn't the Reyes, it was the concert, so maybe its not fare to compare the 2... Francisco and his family make good guitars and that's just the facts. My experience has been that Navarro's don't have quite as quick of attack and the tone is a little darker over all. Not a good thing, not a bad thing, its just the sound they build. Its a great sound, and if I could owned 10 flamencos at a time I would have at least 1 Navarro...

I would never ever put the Raimundo in the same class with the Navarro student guitars. Raimundos are just the same as any other factory made guitar from Spain and that's that... A few factories build all of those guitars and each importer slaps their label on them, but on the inside they are all the same.

The Navarro on eBay with the Conde headstock and Conde bracing pattern I'm pretty sure is the guitar I initially ordered. I had ordered pegs but there was a mix up and they did mechanical tuners, which I didn't want. So, they built a new guitar for me. The guitar I got, arrived a couple days ago, has the Conde headstock and Conde bracing and is otherwise like the Navarro student model, although I think it is a little lighter than Navarro's usual student model. It is not a Conde copy, just a couple things similar. But it was mainly built by Francisco's son, Marlan Navarro, and he signed the label. The guitar lis very light, like I like, and the neck depth is thinner, which I also like. Pegs work perfectly and fretboard and frets very well done. Over the years, I've owned about 12 flamenco guitars, including a 1962 Ramirez, a Shelton-Farretta, and a Santos Hernandez. For the price range on the Navarro, it can't be beat. It is the best hand-made flamenco in that price range (less than $1000). Yes, the Santos Hernandez is better but that's a different price range... The Conde-Navarro one on eBay is back up, is posted. Ron Hudson is great to work with and, if you don't like the guitar(s), you can always return it. Honorable policy. .... Regards
