Please help with identifying this guitar

Hi
hoping someone may have some clues on this guitar which is being sold by the owner/friend
thinking of buying it myself so would appreciate any info or speculation...hoping maybe the rosette, headstock or pegs may give it away...no label...
it has a case from Conde Hermanos but unclear if the instrument is connected
thanks in advance..always appreciate the wealth of knowledge at foro...

Sorta puts me in mind of a Ramirez I once owned.

Put a small mirror in the soundhole and check if there are any initials stamped inside.

cheers,

Ron

I think you're correct Keith. The general outline of the headstock is from Hernandez-Aguado and it certainly is not one of those.

Thanks Kieth, Sean and John...huge help
came upon this also a few hours ago..
http://www.catoosatrading.com/images/cat_1970sventura_page_09.jpg

the rosette did remind me of a KYairi or Matsouka...

being in Australia it makes sense as alot of japanese guitars were taken up by retailers in the 70's...

the guitar is 2000 km away but my friend says it is easy to play and has an aged, deep sound..so no idea from personal experience...but if similiar to a k yairi imagine they have a bit of charecter and a good setup...
again thanks for your help...will let him know.

Bruno Ventura...sounds like a continental Austen Powers...

Watch out though!

It could be a Ramirez that someone has cleverly faked up to look like a Ventura!

cheers,

Ron

Or it could be a Jesse Ventura, the American pro wrestler, turned governor, turned pro nut job.

AlVal,
I think it looks alot like my Juan Orozco from the early 70's but the label has no date so I'm only guessing based on the overall condition. Mine has gears and a rosewood board but the rosette looks almost identical along with the headstock design. The label says the Luthier was Ryoji Matsuoka.

It plays well and is very light and seemed to be well constructed condsidering it seems like a cheaper model. The trebs are a bit weak but overall its fun to play...

hey Kudo..
a couple reasons
1. flamenco guitars are a hard find here. if it plays well, sounds good and is well made i would buy it to move onto a student...save them the hassle of finding a decent entry level instrument until they are ready to upgrade..
2 beach or holiday guitar..
3 dont have a less precious guitar to take to spain in september [ not sure what ia available over there at a budget price...]

all this depends on price...but picked Marduk up a nice japanese made blanca recently..find they are well made, light with a good sound and set up...often direct copies of ramirez 1a's

Ryoji Matsuoka.

thanks Sig...it could be...crossed my mind too...or K Yairi..or Tama
never heard of Ventura guitars before...but seem to be many out there..

Juan Orozco

another bruno ventura? Matsouka guitars are fairly common here...
just checked...
a luthier who outsourced to japan in the 70's

It looks more like an Ace Ventura.
