Apps related to flamenco

Hi,
I just got an iPad and was wondering how my foro friends were using it (or iPhone)
for music/flamenco purposes.
I use an app from Canal Sur radio and like it a lot.
What other apps do you like and/or find helpful?
Thanks,
Dennis

Graf-Martinez' metronome is also out on iOS now but no idea how it compares. I suspect it will lack the "improvisation" functionality of Dr Compas. I wish Dr Compas had some higher quality sounds though.

It's also possible to get the Graf-Martinez loops for the iOS version of Garageband, then you pretty much have the functionality of that weird guitar with the built-in recording computer...

I used to have every POSSIBLE flamenco app on my ipod touch and I realized that most of them were a waste of time and money because they are crappy. the only 2 good ones I strongly recommend is Doctor Compas and Canal Sur. I have the other apps but I dont use them at all

There is a Flamencoradio called MásFlamenco its free and very nice.
Canal Sur is often too much rumba, that i don't like that much.
And yeah dr. compás is the best flamenco app which is available.
Don't buy BeatVibe, that the most worst metronome i know.

Description
Are ready to become a world famous bull fighter?
Do you want to be the most attractive flamenco dancer at the event?
Or would you rather be a fighting bull?
With Itorero you can create your photographs and transform the model in your original photograph into a bull fighter, flamenco dancer or a fighting bull.
You can also create individual or group post cards and send them to your friends.
Good luck, and let the bull fight begin!
Android store 'iTorero'

Wow....that's just hideous....

MásFlamenco never seems to connect for me for some reason
CanalSur- I listen to it everyday (right now too) for 7hrs a day and its not true that they have too much rumba, they have everything equally, just perfect. I was listening to tientos right now

Yes. I too just got my first IPAD3 and I just got the Doctor Compas APP. Just wish the IPAD volume was louder....

the volume on the iphone is really low as well.
best thing to do is to hook up a PC speaker that has good volume and practice with that.

I use beatvibe and it is working just great. The volume is modest on the ios devices so connecting a decent speaker is good.

Ron: i agree as a matter of fact, i hate creating the itunes account in my apple store and i ask customers to come back when i'm off

Really? I plugged it into my PA and played with it live, sounded bad ass.

Maybe you need new speakers?

Ditto for me, Doctor Compás sounds fine in my studio.

Admittedly possible. But I think it's just the nature of the samples which sound a bit too "drum machine" like, maybe too processed or compressed? I dunno...maybe it's just me..but I think it would be great to combine the rhythm engine of Dr Compas with some really, really high quality, multi-layered samples like you have in the professional software instrument world.

Though I guess at that point we might be putting real palmeros out of business.

It's not just you, but we might need to calibrate our expectations. Those uber-high-quality multi-layered samples you're talking about are created by major instrument companies for use in high-dollar instruments with broad market appeal. Until someone with the R&D capacity of Korg, Kurtzweil, Yamaha, Nord, Roland, Kawai, etc. decides to build a flamenco iPod app (and sell it for a few bucks a pop, at most), Dr. Compas is probably as good as it gets.

Does that Dr compas work on windows7?

Or on a mac?

Or just ipads and iphones??

The "requirements" are not really understandable...

Its really important.. for 20$ I wanna be sure that it runs on my system..

EDIT: Oh I just see after clickeing some links there is written:

The Free Beta Testing Phase for Doctor Compás™ has ended. PC and Mac versions will be released very soon. Visit us on Facebook and click “Like” to recieve info on updates and new releases.

I wonder who did the "free" beta testing since I always asked for that... tststs

Indeed, the site was up with the working application for months and it was always talked about here. Not sure how you missed that?

Don´t know. I remember that Ricardo promoted it.. I thought for a while he gets %..haha Well, but I didnt pay attention since all flamenco metronomes out there are just expensive, useless toys.

If I wouldnt have seen Ricardo using and talking about it.. I still wouldnt wanna check it out...

Well,.. after all...it seems to be fun and actually quite good. And the pricing also reasonable..

So.. now I want to check it.. and there is no win adn mac version... Thats..funny..:D

I hesitated for a little time before buying Doctor Compás. But now I'm glad I bought it, because it's good for my website uploads but it's also helping me tighten up some of my playing.

I gotta say I was avoiding getting Doctor Compas, but it is exactly what I need. It's a great thing to listen to on the subway and to tap along.
