Need feedback on Felix Manzanero's f...

Hello,

I am interested on finding reviews from forum members on Felix Manzanero's flamenco guitars. I used to have a classical that I loved, but I never tried his flamenco guitars. La Sonanta and other online vendors have them every once in awhile. The prices seem to be about the same as for Condes or slightly below.

Sus guitarras classicas son muy buenas. Su museo es impresionante. Sus guitarras flamencas son regulares, pero algunas pueden ser buenas, por lo menos a tu gusto. Están muy bien hechas.

Yo compraría a José Romero. (Espos y Mina).

I have a l970 Manzanero blanca peghead in pristine, original condition except for replacement mechanical pegs. It once belonged to Juan Maya Marorte, and this was affirmed by Felix when I visited his shop in 2010. It is a beautiful guitar with cedar top, very clear and penetrating highs and exceptional bass and mid range. It is very percussive but also has many lyrical qualities. I have not played it in a long time and have thought about pricing it??

Normally i don't like any guitar other than Conde.
But Felix Manzanero and Pedro Maldonado are exceptions.
Friend of mine has a Manzanero and its an amazing guitar ,both sound and playability. I also have an old Student Guitar from Manzanro, not comparable with the Primeras but still good and has that Manzanero sound.

I say go and try one if you can. Great guitar, but expensive,

Muchas gracias Morante. He estado leyendo, y aparece que calida the construcion is alta como mi clasica, but pero la consitencia del sonido de flamenca a flamenca es mas variada que con las clasicas. Voy a tratar the tocar una.

Thank you Arash. It is good to hear that you know of an exemplary Manzanero flamenca. I am going to try to find one. I just don't want to order one and have to return it. I do have a couple of condes A26 in mind, so I might just buy one and maybe get another Manzanero classical.

It looks beautiful etta! From the looks, I would not have guessed that those were mechanical pegs. It would be interesting to try one of his guitars from the 70's and a more recent one.

The ones I have played were very nice sounding flamenco guitars. Dry and clear with solid mids. But the only thing I prefer with some other makers was the neck profile on the Manzaneros were kind of skinny, which might take some getting used to if you are used to wider neck guitars like Conde or Reyes style. Not sure if it was the general way he makes his flamencos or just the few I have tried were set up that way.

Thanks for sharing your experiences Ricardo! May I ask if the guitars you tried were both negras and blancas? I see mostly Manzanero blancas for sale.
