Pfft. Well obviously I meant flamenco, otherwise I would have posted this in off-topic.

Cheesy flamenco is fine, though nothing which involves me having to ride a horse on the beach.

the Buleria in minor from Pitingos first cd is pretty soft.

sorry, couldnt resist :)

there's the bit that Paco often uses to introduce his mineras, the one that starts on E and goes up by thirds, then ends in C#madd9, Badd9, A, G# - from that you could switch to alegrías and sing a letra :)

The suggestions involving singing don't quite add up, given that most guitarists are, of course, frustrated singers.

I'd suggest "fur Elise" with a strong RH flamenco tecnik. That's a must. Humidification garantee if you're able to made some catchy golpes

Should it be only one guitar , or you can involve some people or backtracking?
I personally find Kris' "Starlight" very suitable , but you'll need palmas and a second guitar. . .

I've always had great luck with two Hendrix tunes: Little Wing and Angel

If I were going with flamenco, it would probably be an alegrias (major key, not minor) or a rumba. I think chicks dig it when you're happy. We only THINK they are moved by our depth of emotion....our jjjjjondo....or our little inner emo whiny ass.

I think you're right.

All this Tarantas and deep soulful stuff turns 'em off in my experience.

Worse still is a fumbling "technical" Bulerias where they can't even clap along.

They seem to dig (old style) Alegrias as the phrasing makes sense to them and they can clap along in a 1/1 format. LOL!

But as Ricardo says, Gypsy Kings is the stuff to get 'em.

Everybody loves that stuff.

It's a wonder we don't drop Flamenco puro and just play that if we are interested in money, love and success.

But maybe we're not somehow...and that's what makes the diff?

No, but really - the secret is not serenading with instrumental music, but rather SINGING that is the key. Do y'all agree?
