and a little view from the side. I'ts hard to see, but the madagascar rosewood has quite a bit of grain figure that i hope will come out nicely once the guitar is french polished.

RE: 1st blanca build (in reply to gounaro

i still have to install the bindings for the back.

i was thinking of using some mother of pearl to decorate the tieblock, oooor i might use a piece of bone, not sure yet.

without a doubt, this will be my best looking guitar so far (out of almost 40 guitars).

glued on the bridge today, still need to do the binding on the back, leven fretboard, fret.
But im so curious, i might just string her up tomorrow or the day after to hear what a few string do...... its hard to be patience.

RE: 1st blanca build (in reply to gounaro

any advise on hammering in the frets above the soundboard, so fret 13 and up?

im kinda scared I'll kill my guitar hahaha, im used to fretting necks before attaching them to the body.

I reach inside with a bag of lead shot and hammer the frets in against that with the guitar lifted into the air. Rest the bottom end on a piece of carpet, but do not hammer those frets in with the guitar lying on its back on the bench.

RE: 1st blanca build (in reply to gounaro

hahaha thnx flamingrae, yeah im excited, i posted a vid of me playing her with only 4 frets installed lol, i installed up to fret no12 today so i could play her properly with a capo.

At first the trebbles seemed a bit soft, but after a bit of playing they came alive, totally knocked me off my socks :D

unfortunatly I'll be busy doing some other work this week, so I might not be able to work more on this guitar untill next week. next up is finishing the fretwork, final shaping the neck, making bone nut and saddle, sanding and then french polishing.
