Aw, that's really nice of you to remember me! Richard saw your post and let me know. I'm really well, thanks for asking, and I haven't been around much for a couple of reasons.

The first is work: I thought my career was winding down and was going to retire early in a few years. But then I got the chance to do some new work, and I'm really enjoying it. It's reminded me why I went into the health services in the first place. But it does mean less time for other stuff.

But the other thing is that after I went to Sanlucar in July I had a bit of a wobble guitar wise. It was a great week, but I had planned it to be inspiring, and in fact it was a bit dispiriting. It just made me realise even more how far my playing is from where I want it to be.

Anyway, I took a bit of a break. I am now back playing again, and just really enjoying the sound. Am playing quite simple stuff, but trying to make each note right. And I've sort of taken the pressure off myself. I don't have to achieve anything in particular, as long as I enjoy the sounds of the guitar.

Well I really appreciate the thought Gummy. Hope you are well too.

I know how you feel about the wobbly guitar... I'm going to do as you are too. I think things are changing around here and I'll get a chance to practice more often. I think that will solve lots of issues in my playing : ). Nice to see you back!

Nice hearing from you Ailsa.

As you mentioned, listening to the pros often make you think "if this is playing, what the hell am I doing then?"

However, I have stopped thinking like that. I practice as mush as I can and I can see that every hour that I put into it, I play better and better. This makes me happy, although I know I will never be able to Play like Gerardo!
The key is to remain on the right route.

Keep in touch,
A

Wow this is interesting to hear and also sad. sorry to hear Sanlucar had this effect.

really glad to hear youre playing again too!

Ive had these wobbles plenty but they only seem to last a few days tops then i feel i come back stronger...hope you do too!

I had one recently after my first proper paid up gig....first night was horrid, loads of nerves and didnt wanna play next day...did second night and suddenly felt like paco or something!! ...not quite but the point is that a couple of tiny differences in each performance made an immense difference to my opinion of my playing etc...

keep playing!!!
