affedis transcriptions

I dont know if anyone wants to brave this, and perhaps I shouldnt. My question is how accurate do most feel transcriptsions from Affedis are? I have several, once of which is hugley different than that which I've picked up off the net. I have another Sabicas, Malaguena, and another version, by a very good classical author. They are similar, but in two parts are hugely different in the tremelo and in another spot, one writes it as a chord and three strikes and one writes it as a arpeggio. Both are obviously hearing a series of notes. As for me, I find it simply too fast on the recording and I have no way of slowing it down. Which might be the most accurate? The affedis appraoch to the trem seems more logical while the classical one is a monster but sounds good. It is the semi arpeggio/that has got me stumped. Several of you I have seen are very familar with Sabicas, even having seen him play and maybe even played with him, does nayone know what is the correct version? The cd i have is Recital de guitarra flamenca vol 3

I would definately go with the Affedis transcription - Alan Faucher's transcriptions are amongst the most accurate I've seen. Transcriptions of flamenco done by classical guitarists often tend to be watered down versions designed for classical guitarists; so that they can be played without actually learning proper flamenco right hand technique. As for slowing the music down, there are several slowdowners available on the net - my favorite is "Transcribe!"; a free 30-day version is available from www.seventhstring.com.

I went the the transcribe web site, downloaded the software, played the cd and saved it to the hard drive and when I try to opnen the song in the software I get a error msg that says quicktime not installed. I think it might not support that medium ?? even though I saved it on the hard drive. Maybe I have to change the file ext? Anyway I sent a email to the transcribe guy who has yet to supply a solution so if you have ideas, let me know. thansk and thanks for the response on affedis. I.m tending to agree at this point,

I've ordered many of Faucher's transcriptions over the years and found them to be quite accurate. I understand he also gets input from the actual artists whenever he can. But even without their input I'd say he's at least 95% accurate. I usually change a few positions or fingerings, but only to suit my own playing preferences. I'd say you can't go wrong with his work.
