Improve your ensemble performance skills in this creative workshop! Seeking musicians and singers to study in Flamenco Latino's collaborative workshop, FLAMENCO LATINO MUSIC ENSEMBLE. The workshop is open to committed students from the intermediate level to the retired professional. Led by Basilio Georges with several visiting artists, this class offers a unique opportunity to study collaboratively and perform with other musicians and flamenco and salsa artists. Thursdays, 7:30-9:30 PM at Flamenco Latino, 244 W 54th St., 4th fl., NY, NY Call 212-399-8519 or email flamlat@verizon.net to register. $20/class OR $70/4-pack (Only being offered through 8/26. The fall term will require commitment to purchase 8-10 session pack at $17.50/session.) Credit/debit cards accepted. www.flamencolatino.com --Study a wide array of songs that exemplify specific Flamenco ida y vuelta styles such as guajiras, rumba and colombianas, as well as the influence flamenco amalgamated from Latin musical traditions starting with the Cuban Habanera,which over the years has produced other forms such as son, guaracha, rumba, mambo, bolero and salsa. --Develop traditional and unusual music and dance arrangements to be performed at Flamenco Latino's studio theater in early November and early December! --Seeking flamenco guitarists, singers, percussion and other instruments in the string, woodwind or brass family.
