My first iPhone/Android app - flamen...

Chaps,

I just started to learn iPhone and Android programming, so this weekend I cooked up a prototype app for both platforms. I am calling it "Round.About" and in this case, it details flamenco events within a certain distance of your location (adjustable), in your state, country or abroad.

We should also be able to add events as well.

It works for all kinds of events, but I am thinking of expanding a flamenco version with supporting information on artists, venues and photos, etc. including linking back to this forum in time.

Here are some screenshots for a search of flamenco events all over the World, in July 2011.

Comments and feedback are most welcome.

Unfortunately, all I have is an HTC Touch phone. Still, you're a genius, Simon. Olé!

Don't worry, I will be putting a web version on the forum in due course.

Still won't help because I can't get my phone to connect to the internet. I've gone to hell and back to make it work, but to no avail...

No, I mean it will be a web page, like a series of "ads" on this forum - no need of a phone.

Bump.

Seems that the lack of interest would indicate that I won't be bothering to focus on flamenco events with this app.

I am very interested and would love an app like that. Please keep us posted on its development.

I don't have such iphone, so I probably not use this app. But it sounds a good idea
How do you collect the raw info? Is only concern what's already available on the web? Or could you also found offline info? (underground or big event only?)
