somthing to say - HaithamFlamenco

Hola amigos y amigas,

lots of the freinds here in the foro notice that I stoped writting or uploading any audio or video on the forum or youtube,

well, there are lots of reasons for that,

When I go back to my old videos "which I will remove soon from youtube" I can see how newbie I was and I can see it was a big mistake to upload a video of me playing in such a bignner and baisc way.

here where I would like to say to all the biggners ( do not rush ) playing flamenco is a very long hard working process do not jump ,start from the baisc of baiscs, slowly understand the flasetas the techniques the compass.

plenty of my friends and me as well made the same mistak, I have a friend who just started flamenco and he was trying to play the fandango of vicente amigo !!! imagine.

here where you can see the problem, some people will play flamenco to play a certin guitarist palos or flasetas and he will never play another guitarist falsetas also he desrespict the tradtional flamenco, what kind of thinking is this!!!

As I always said the first step for every biggner is to understand the baisc tradtional flamenco , not to play directly the antonia of PDL!

also, I notice lots of guys in this forum and youtube, play the flamenco for the techique and whos play the most difficult newest falsetas! its ok , but that not what is flamenco about, some players can play a baisc falseta and you can feel the duende , there are some guys as well the play in overclean tidy way, its like playing by washing thier fingernails with Detol!!!

Flamenco is flamenco, it is love it is passion, it is duende , it is the history of a very unfaithfull moment when all the arabs and gitanos face at the end of the al alndalus empire, flamenco is a way to express that feeling the pain, the hunger , the racisim , the tears also the few momnets of hapiness, it is history.

uhhhh, what is happning in my country right now make me understand the flamenco more and more everyday.

Guys, please , the flamenco should be in your blood, your moves should be flamenco, your breath should be flamenco, your steps should be flamenco, your dreams should be flamenco, you must be entirly a flamenco,

thanks, guys for reading, that just somthing that I want to say,

Ole

Haithamflamenco, sorry but i don't get it. Do you think a beginner shouldn't upload vid? And better wait until he get some level before posting something on yutu?
Personnaly, i'm proud of all my public vid (more or less)

I would say: that's the spirit! aka the blindness that leads nowhere!

That's not funny...yet...at least give us some name or concrete examples

I too have videos on you tube , cant say that I am pleased with them all , but they do serve as a reference as to what I was doing and what I do now ...
I think this is a good thing.
I have for a while now gone right back to basics, partly for that Flamenco feel that you were talking about.
I would try from time to time things that may be too hard for me , this is just another way to experience music.
I think many people will start out with the idea of learning everything in the first week , starting with the hardest tunes first.......this is just human nature,,, then you either give up, or join the forum and decide to do the basic stuff and ask advice here and if you stay the distance you will reach a level of flamenco.
It sounds like you are writing with a bit of a crisis, people will do what they do , after all you did it ..
Why not keep your old stuff for comparison , and future reference.

hello Haitham nice to see you again man

is no big deal dont take it so seriously...all the uploads here are just practice, its not a show...so upload when you ready or before or whatever it dosent matter...beginners should keep uploading , more for themselves than anyone else

I know what u saying about the basics and you right...but we have also all tried to go on what we liked rather then what we can do...its normal, its part of the learning experience...as you get better you always going to be ashamed of your old youtube videos or audios here same way as you are when you see photos of haircuts or clothes you once thought were cool...

if 5 years from now you still proud of the same youtube video you uploaded today....perhaps your understanding probably hasent progressed as much as it should have in the last 5 years imo ( u know to a certain level)

but theres also exceptions....for example if you built yourself up and expecting the worst from watching a 5 year old video of yours (which is what i do..i always cringe at the idea of a 5 year old video or audio of mine )...then cause of that... you might also be nicely surprised...or its not as bad as what you expected....but only cause my expectations cant get any lower...

its funny listening back to something what you once thought was great, the audio hasent changed just you.... and finding gaps in the feel or compas or phrasing......if it teaches you anything is that ...there's always always room for improvement

It is cool that you can now recognize flaws you didn't see before.

I remember being entertained by your early posts, you seem like a real nice person who is fun to be around. I am sad to see what is going on in Bahrain. I was there a few years ago and what I saw was beautiful. I didn't get a chance to travel it in depth, just drove around couple times and visit for a couple days. I wished I could see it on your weekends, I hear it is like Las Vegas.. I saw Bahrain many times from the air and made many trips in and out of the airport though. I used to want to apply for Gulf air awhile back too but my life and the hiring cycle didn't coincide..

I visited Bahrain for a day Haitham coming form Doha during my staying for work. I had to go out form the country for one day since my visa was not for work so i went for a day and came back the same day

I asked the taxi driver to take me to a characteristic place and he drove me to the Carrefour immediately it was fun. I hope that soon the conditions will get stable. Nothing stays the same
