No problem amigo,
I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I guess we probably jumped on you because of experiences over the years on other Forums, where somebody would appear out of nowhere and start sniping at members for being a lot of useless wannabees and wasting their time talking instead of playing etc....
So without knowing you were joking, we took you to be a sniper, hence the response...

Anyway, welcome ichbintoll!

How long have you been playing?

cheers

Ron

Hi dubisttoll!

I assume you live in Germany, I live in Holland, so I would like to ask if you can keep us a little informed if there are nice concerts overthere?

Greetings Peter

Hi there,

Where in Germany was the Flamenco festival you mentioned ? In August there is a Flamenco festival in Berlin, Emilio Maya is playing for the dancer Ana Calí on the 13th and they are giving classes, ( guitar/cante/baile) from the 14th - the 16th.

If you go let us know.

Kate

Hi ichbintoll,
Again welcome, and many thanks for your info and upload of stuff to the Forum.
Can I ask you one thing however?
One thing that I'd like to see ALL members doing...
And that's to put in their Town, City and Country in their profile.
You've no idea how helpful this can be to others.
You could be posting with an anonymous aka, then two years down the line find out that somebody else who posts just lives across town from you!
No need to post your phone number or credit card details etc...
Just Town or City and Country!
It really helps everybody!
And makes it a better community IMO.
Dead easy to do...just click "profile" and fill in the blanks.
Do it now, before you forget, por favor!

cheers

Ron

Thanks for the link. Very interesting to see that all the performances were themed shows, as opposed to straight guitar, cante, baile. Its a shame that the flamenco festivals prefer this sort of spectacle. We all complain about it here especially as they get all the funding. Noticed that this festival was also subsidised by Andalucia government. I think if one is to do flamenco justice then a festival should also contain flamenco as it is done traditionally as well as the choreagrphed stylised theatre pieces. But then I am biased
