Gentlemen I am so very pleased to be able to impart some wisdom to collegues such as yourselves. This is my 20th year as a luthier, and at this point I am feeling more and more that I need to do my part to spread the wealth of information I have gleaned over the years. It is my debt to those who came before, which can only be paid by taking part in the sharing process, so that all may benefit. As such I will dispense with any misgivings of holding onto secrets. First of all, the quality of beer is vital, cheap beer is only good for bar-b-ques or when you had so much of the good stuff, you can no longer tell the difference. Cleaning is a sacred activity, look to the East for validation of that, in Japan all craftsmen start by purifing their space first. No need for tossing salt around or involving any priests, just know a cluttered space begats (don't get to use that word enough) a cluttered mind. As a sacred process one should always clean with a pure spirit and pure spirits. No cheap beer, no cheap vodka, no cheap whiskey or for God's sake no cheap tequilla. To chime in on your choice of brew....Cruzcampo is good, Anchor Steam is good, Dogfishhead's 60 minute IPA is a personal favorite, but Stella Artois works good too, it's lighter and good for when I'm trying to get ready for beach season. Onward! Aaron
