Accents on Fandangos and Sevillanas

Hola Amigo. Can anyone tell me where the accented beats are on Fandangos de Huelva and Sevillanas?

Oh man. I may have to change it then. I didn't know Ron was already using the zurdo monkey. Blast!

No, I think you should offer Ron a swap, he's right handed, after all. I can get quite a lot of animated GIFs, let me see if can find one that Ron would like.

That's OK Zurdo....you have the "Zurdo Mono"!
I'll take the Saltire as a provisional avatar.

By the way a professional (Spanish) flamenco player who has played for various dance companies showed me Fandangos de Huelva as Golpe, 2, 3 Golpe, 2, 3, Golpe, 2, 3, Golpe, 2,3....etc
I must admit it did sound good when he did it, but I find it a bit unweildy, as I've always
mentally thought of it the same as Andy.
By the way he told me that's OK too, but to concentrate on the Golpe, 2, 3 as well.
as dancers preferred to hear the Golpe on 1.
I must admit he played it with a really driving and forceful rhythm compared to mine.

Ron

If you accompany the cante por Huelva or listen to a real Huelva guitarist, gople,2,3 is right. Think thumb, rasgeo, rasgeo. The palmas are 2,3,5 etc.

Thank you guy's for the help and Andy thank you very much for taking the time to post that audio. You can't get any more clear that having an audio demonstration. Much appreciated amigo.

Andy,

What guitar did you use to record the Fandangos audio sample with? It is a very nice sounding instrument.

Rozas builds one heck of an instrument. Very well respected. If I'm not mistaken I think C.Vega mentioned that he had one.

I was just browsing old topics and found this. What a coincidence. Exactly the same topic as the ones from today/nowadays.

Very interesting. Too bad this thread has largely been neutered.
