Do you have more than one good guitar

I'd like to know if people who have more than one good guitar end up mainly playing only one.

I have two classical guitars: a Hohner HC-06, and a Jose Ramirez R1. I bought the Hohner when I first started playing, nine years ago. I bought the Ramirez three years after I started playing. I tend to play both nearly equally. I play one all the time for a week or two, then I switch.

Thanks guys, I was wondering if the 2nd or (5th Mike) ended up not being used because you end up prefering one over the other and so stop playing the other one.

I have a low-end Bernal - a great everyday guitar - and my splendid Anders Blanca peg-head. If I was playing more, which I do not nowadays, the Bernal would be the beach guitar or "beater" to take out and about.

I have a Vicente Sanchis (Mod. 15) for my classes and an Anders Blanca for my first guitar. I play almost equally, but i prefer of course the Anders because the guitar has to open up a little.

I have a sigurdson blanca which is the guitar I pick-up. My first guitar which I still have is a Raimundo 145 that I rarely play, it is what I take when I go camping, although last time I went camping I took my Sigurdson! So I play it less and less.

I think I will get a new flamenco guitar in a couple of years, then my Sigurdson will be my camper and my Raimundo will be sold off.

I have some guitars (Yamaha, alhambra, Manuel Rodriguez , Mundo flamenco [got it recently for almost nothing])
and actually yea I mainly play only one for "practicing"(the yamaha one) not for gigs or shows and the reason is that I have a sweaty hands and the sweat kills the strings tune and aggressiveness making it dull so I don't risk losing all my guitars strings .. I practice on one and do gigs on others^^

Had a Yamaha and an Eliasson, yamaha is the one that I that I bring around if I want to practice on the beach/park etc.
Then I bought a Macias guitar in may/june.. then I sold the Eliasson in june/july because someone of my standard shouldn't have 2 good guitars.

Apart for newer and older, for those who have 2 good ones, I thought they would have been a bit different, maybe in sound or in rasp, like one with less buzz, to play 'cleaner' pieces where you want more sustain and the other with a lot of buzz, like very flamenco sounding...

Have like 5 guitars at the moment, I even got rid of like 3 or 4 in the past 6 months :)
A Epiphone black beauty which I haven't touched since like january, an old Aria pro 2, which is so modified and abused no one would want it ever :)...a Yamaha bass guitar, and then the two acoustic flamenco that I AM actually playing; A Francisco Navarro blanca student and a Richard Cogger Flamenco Blanca 2002 (thx Andy!)

I'm not playing that much now, but when I was both my '82 Arcangel Fernandez blanca and '67 Ramirez 1a blanca saw frequent use. I kept the Ramirez in Rondeña tuning for a few pieces.

Playing classical my '73 Romanillos and my '06 Abel Garcia saw about equal use. The Romanilos is the better guitar for me, but the Garcia is extremely good--and it's still fairly new so I wanted to be sure it got played in.

I've got a '91 spruce/Brazilian Contreras doble tapa and an '01 cedar/cocobolo Arturo Huipe that see less use. I like to play the Huipe once a week or so to hear the cedar.

I have 2 one is a guitar I got from Manuel Reyes place in Cordoba, although it's not made by him as his are way expensive for me he also gets in some reasonable factory guitars called student guitars for learning, its's ok but not very loud and lacks a lot of treble brilliance..I think it comes from Valencia ....nice guy as he played them all for me and said this one sounds a bit better than the others , and he did put the golpeadors on for me .......this one I have left in Rondeña tuning as I am messing about with that at the moment...
The other is a Yamaha CG171SF which a prefer and sounds just fine for me, I haven't had this for too long , and I don't see the point on spending big bucks for something I am just learning ... I'm quite happy with the Yamaha and , for the price , would recommend them to any other beginner.

I have four guitars:
1)a classical (Italian Luthier) - superb guitar!;
2) a J.Ramirez FL2;
3) an Anders Blanca ( very very flamenca!);
4) my first classica guitar (1973) Hermanos godvinez G705 ( still whit "made in japan" on it!... a very "low class guitar"! but with a perfect fretboard).

I now usually play ( one to two hours a day ) classic on the first and flamenco falsetas (I am learning it) on the Anders blanca.

ciao

Funny thing about guitars of all quality is that it is the player to a large extent that gererates the sound ...ok a good guitar helps somewhat but I'm sure that if I were to pick up Paco de lucias guitar it would sound exactly like me ,,, not him ...
but if he were to play my crappy Yamaha , boy would it come to life then,,,,,,,

I find I can keep 3 guitars in a good rotation and play them all almost equally. More than three and somebody ends up with old dead strings and more neglected than the others. In my case all of my 4 guitars have a very similar feel and response with subtle but immediately perceptible individual nuances, but it does not matter which one I have in my hands - it has the nice comfy feeling of home, so it is easy to keep playing on all of them. They are all Castillo Blancas. I'll probably be down to 2 soon.

I have a Jeff Sigurdson negra 2005 and a Conde Hermanos negra Gravina 1999. I will get my new Sigurdson blanca in a few days.

I play them both .I switch them every two-three weeks. I don’t know when I get the third one.

I think that's exactly the point about the whole second guitar thing... In my opinion it only makes sence to buy a new guitar if you already play the old one to its absolute limits (in terms of soundquality)... I still play on a 100€ Classical Guitar, and i'll continue untill i can play all important flamencotechniqes in a satisfying way. I don't know which guitar i would chose then, because i doubt i'll ever have 3000€ for a guitar :-(

yes exactly I never will either, but I think for guitars you should get cheap and reasonable , like my yamaha or go for it the best top end you can get ... the mid range guitars are the ones to stay away from because you spend quite a bit of money and may be dissapointed with certain aspects , if you are going to go big money make double sure it's what you want,,,,,triple sure...

I have my beloved 2010 Castillo blanca, and one beater, a very aged (~30 years) classical/negra that doesn't even has a label in it. It's an entry level guitar, but keepin that in mind it sounds great. Lowered the action, so it has some buzz, but it's perfect for what it is.

i have my FL2 blanca, also a Raimundo classical that i never play anymore, i use it to play when someone comes over to practice without a guitar so i give them mine...i also have two electrics, i hadn't touched them in years, until recently, still the squire strat only gets played about 2 hours a week...
once i can afford it i want to buy a high end negra, but that won't come for a while yet...
