I can't comment on what that student's issue is - all I can say is that I don't have anything similar from my end. You are, of course, entitled to friend or un-friend whomever you like.

As I said before, it's the principle that bothers me - I just don't think that one should post derogatory messages about other people, regardless of who it is.

is it ok for your principle if its ruben doing it about the rest of the world ? because that's precisely what he did here and that's precisely why hes getting this type of reaction

i keep telling you this and you seem to conveniently overlook this important little detail ... pretending like you don't see it, hes not some innocent civilian , he was here, before you, the attitude towards him is just a reflection of the way he carried himself while here... your words cannot change that

You cannot demand respect for him. when he himself was here and gave none, not to the forum not to its members, simple, you not going to win this one

If members here decide to give it to him ( which personally i hope they do, or atleast stop talking about him, not for him for us, i think there's more power in letting go of grudges) but its at their/our own discretion, I am not about to tell anyone how to feel about him...only thing you can do is speak of the positive experiences you had with him try it that way but also acknowledge that you weren't here and that it is possible that he might have brought it upon himself through his behavior here, he might have disrespected some members here who have every right not to respect him..

if the foro means anything to you besides trying to clear his name worry about you because you cant change attitude towards him .... fair enough ?

Florian

I understand he was here before and I understand he did some of the same things here that people are now doing in response. I do get that part and I don't condone that sort of behaviour.

I learned a long time ago that if you can't say something good about someone then it's usually best to say nothing at all. Yet it never seems to stop - someone always brings him up for some reason and then the comments start flying and he isn't here to defend himself. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I don't think the moderators should allow it and while these threads may make entertaining reading for some, I think they should be shut down before they reach the point this one has.

I would much rather spend my time here reading Ramzi's posts than writing in this one. His stuff is entertaining and informative, and I can't say I've ever seen him participating in threads like this one.

there are also some entertaining vids

OMG..... I literally fell out of my chair laughing when i saw these 2 videos......especially the first that talks about the doble, triple y hasta 4 bocas.....and then the chick playing the guitar saying she doesn't know if she can feed so many mouths ......hahahahaha

HILARIOUS video ....and no I have nothing personal against Ruben since I still like Ruben as a person...what I of course strongly disagree with him about has been his unethical behavior...Sorry Yojimbo but the videos are not only funny but they poke fun about about the truth behind some of his statements..... Some of the same things said in these videos he pulled with me....... and I was an idiot to fall for it.....

I am not ashamed to admit it since i acted out of ignorance. But what I will say to you with all sincerity Yojimbo is try to lighten up because I really believe the guys on this foro are trying to help you as a guitarist and no one is against you here....There is a huge collective of knowledge here and even though we may not all agree on everything I think you will find that generally speaking you will get some very good orientation by listening to the collective group of people here on this foro. PEACE!!!!!!!!

I don't speak spanish unfortunately - but the spoofs look amusing. Care to put up a partial translation?

I think we should all recall what this thread was originally about - someone was asking whether his instruction is reliable and true to flamenco. A very simple question - but it degraded into this. It's a stupid waste of time and effort.

turn up the volume for this one

these videos are the funniest videos I have seen in the forum so far,
I CANT STOP WATCHING THIS ONE!! ITS SO HILARIOUS!!! ROFL (fortunately its mostly basic Spanish that I can understand). this thread is the most entertaining thread thanks to prof ROMUALDO DOMINGUES (his new name)

Yojombi, rumbaking is right, even your new teacher will figure out that you were a student of the prof because its stained on your guitar and probably in your playing.

you are saying that you cant comment on the other students issue, well so does that mean you don't want to see it so that you dont want to face the truth which you wont like? or are you waiting for the same stuff to happen to you before you start flipping out on your prof? well actually, I think he already cheated you and you do not know it yet, just wait until you find out what you have been missing and how much time and lessons you have wasted with the prof and you will regret it at the end.

about the person who started this thread.. it has not degraded to this, it is this if we care to direct the guy to the right direction, because this is the truth about prof. unless you want to silence the truth because it is "inappropriate" ? and have the person who started this thread get f*ucked over when he hooks up with the prof? what is the right thing to do? mislead the guy or tell him the truth which sounds like b*ullshit to you?

also, about your experience in spain with the prof, If I were you, what he did right there would get me very suspicious by itself, he ofcourse sees a dollar sign on your head which he wants to guarantee to put in his pocket (by doing all the EXTRA "nice" stuff (which was not for free) he did to you in spain in this bad economy, isnt that suspicious? too good to be true kind of thing) and he successfully did it.

Umm, Ruben should never have gone to Spain. Tsk, tsk.

This is amazing...and funny how Ruben constantly puts down people with "derogatory" comments who aren't even there to defend themselves...the exact thing Yojimbo is complaining about.

Wonder what he would say about you Yojimbo if you ever dared to criticize him.

quote:

From one of Ruben's messages:

Y si eres sincero en tu respuesta quiza recuperes mi amistad.
Porque hasta ahora la has perdido.

Pd.Yo no te necesito Juan
Yo crei que tu a mi si como maestro.
Soy yo quien te hizo un favor Juan por aprecio hacia ti.
Y es asi como me lo pagas?

Seriously this guy makes me ****ing sick.

Why not? If you don't wanna discuss it, don't read the thread. Isn't that the point of a forum? You read what you find interesting and skip what you don't like. It's not like there's 1 valuable thread being removed for every new post in this one...

My experience over the years is that threads like this one produce a lot of negative energy on the forum. It takes away the focus from flamenco towards personal headbanging. Its boring and depressing. Just like watching stupid television like tele5. Admin decides the limits and I log off. And so do a lot of other people.

Agree. The other thread was just closed and locked and minutes later this thread started with the same BS again. Can't we just don't allow any discussion about Professor ?
