Germany 4 Argentina 0

Don't feel so bad now. At least England got a couple of goals past the best World Cup team I have ever seen, ever.

One word Germany, stunning.

Holland did great yesterday, you did better today but what if you guys meet in the final. Oh my, oh my.... I so love Holland

lol... Spain next!

Could be a Dutch German final eh?.... and from what I remember of my years living in Holland, the Dutch hate the Germans with a deep rooted passion.

Could be the ultimate grudge match.

You must not have seen the 1986 Argentine team with the greatest player the earth has seen - Diego Maradona.

I've seen them all since 1966 and I saw the hand of "god" - he looked small tonight and he had no answer. Germany are giving us a masterclass in team work and I am enjoying every minute and that is after seeing the worst England performance I can remember.

They will tear Spain apart.

Yes the Germans are looking good at the moment. Maybe the best German team ever if they are able to win it all, but I have seen them beaten in this tournament even, and not convinced that they are better than some of the great teams between 66 and now. At least they are playing some real attacking football which is more than I can say for many previous German Teams including the 1990 winning squad, boy was that a boring team. I'll still take the 82 Brazil Team that lost, and a couple others in front of them for now for the title of best world cup team.

RE: Germany 4 Argentina 0 (in reply to Escribano

let's not forget though, that the Germans found a goal very early in the game due to a defensive error (Otamendi was sleeping instead of marking his man) and the Argentines were forced to attack, they have a shaky defense anyway (and let's not discuss Maradona's selection policy because that's a joke) and the Germans were left with plenty of space to exploit...while Spain were up against a massive Paraguay who were all set to defend...i'm hopeful Del Bosque will start with Fabregas instead of Torres because i believe insisting with Torres throughout cost Spain many goals and opportunities...
while i don't doubt this German team is excellent, i wouldn't say they'll tear Spain apart...maybe they do if they find an early goal, but i'm hopeful it'll be a legendary game with many goals - and Spain wins

Yeah, and 3 after that one
Argentinos were shockingly bad. Nothing except 3 deadly passes by Messi, maybe it would have been a different game if they shoot the 1:1, same with England with the 2:2. So far Ghana was the only opponent who was better than Germany in a game. You also have to see, Germany is a tournament team, they get better and better during a tournament.

The point about German team is that Joachim Loew was able to prepare such a team in just few weeks (some of them very young and quite unexperienced internationally). Thats one exceptional accomplishment.

Oh and Maradonna,,,,he was great (maybe the best) as a player at that time.
But now he is just a showman who has nothing to offer as a trainer.
Just kissing the players is not enough.
This Nostalgic and idolisation way of thinking is useless for todays football and specially for Argentina football. They need a new trainer. Period.

Mabye the German team does so good because their "star" Ballack is disabled. Now they can´t shove the charge to him and wait till he points.
That could be the key. Stars holding the overall performance of a team down.

ah.. and Angela Merkel was there to control personally that the paid refs do their job.

I have no problem or argument with that assessment.

But this is just like saying: Oh and Paco de Lucia,,,,he was great (maybe the best) as a player at that time.
You could question maybe, but I don't.

uff!! blitzkrieg team
very good toque. They control the game and shut down argentina. I enjoy the game, a very good one

and now vs Spain, very cool semi-final, sounds like the 2008 eurocopa final...the revenge or confirmation?

The president of South Africa, sitting next to Merkel, was cold as ice.
He was just smiling the whole time and not even applauded to one of the german goals.
Very diplomatic president,,,,,so that Argentina and their president won't get annoyed later

@chapman, yeah he was the best (not maybe) - i mean .......Paco (just kidding, i mean Maradonna)
